Deyuelou

The "Deyue building" in Suzhou, which is famous at home and abroad, was founded in the Jiajing period of emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty. historical background

"Deyuelou" was founded in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. Zhang Fengyi, a dramatist of the Ming Dynasty, presented a poem "deyuelou", which said: "the seven mile long dyke is lined with painted screens, the tower is faintly green with willows, the mountain lords are sitting in different places, the water melody is singing intermittently, the flying flowers are riding across the bank, the wine is sold at the gate, and the passenger ship stops. I often make the mountain lords drunk, but I don't want to wake up.". Yefangbang, commonly known as yefangbang, is located between Bantang bridge and Puji bridge. It faces Huqiu across the river. It has a beautiful landscape. From Zhang Fengyi's poems, we can imagine that deyuelou was very famous in WuZhong more than 400 years ago. With the change of history and the change of dynasties, or with the removal and annihilation of the site, the ancient deyuelou has only become a record in history. Until the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, there were still many scholars who wrote poems praising deyuelou. When Emperor Qianlong went to Jiangnan, he had a meal in deyuelou, which was named "the best restaurant in the world" because of its delicious food.

"Deyue building" was restored on April 25, 1982. It was moved to the eunuch lane of Guanqian Street. The whole building is simple and elegant with powdered walls and dark tiles, cornices and corners. The interior decoration of the building is separated by floor coverings, leaky windows, ancient frames and floor long windows. You can enjoy the Suzhou classical garden style step by step. Its architectural features are distinct and the layout is more original. Today's Deyue building is located in the bustling center of Suzhou. The whole building has pink walls, dark tiles and cornices. The three character plaque "deyuelou" was written by song Richang, the former chairman of Shanghai Calligraphy Association. On both sides of the house, there is a flying dragon in the air. With the lace cornice on the back of cloud pattern, it is exquisite and free, graceful and handsome. There is a half Pavilion on the front wall. Under the eaves of the half Pavilion, there is a pair of colorful unicorns hanging upside down. The front of the shop is an octagonal cave with water polished fine brick, and the red lacquer is matched with a copper ring. On the left and right, Fei Xini, a famous Suzhou calligrapher, inscribed the couplet "the place name of Wu is far away, the kitchen is near, the Qionglou Yuyu is drunk, the moon is flying". In 1986, the whole building was rated as one of the top ten buildings in Suzhou, and was made into the "2500 years of Suzhou City" commemorative spark picture.

Development status

Deyuelou is developing rapidly and expanding in the process of reform and opening up. In 1995, it opened Suzhou snack garden and specializes in Suzhou snacks.

In 1999, deyuelou new building was opened to serve Chinese and foreign customers with luxurious banquet hall, various style boxes, exquisite Suzhou boat dishes, Wuzhong first banquet, etc. It is a famous restaurant in Suzhou catering industry.

In June 2003, Suzhou deyuelou catering Co., Ltd. was established by deepening restructuring.
