Lingyan Temple
Lingyan temple is located under the seven star rock of Lingyan mountain, Xingfu Town, 5 km north of Dujiangyan City. It is called "Lingyan holy lamp" and used to be one of the "ten sceneries of Guanxian". It is different from the Lingyan temple in Jinan, which is one of the four famous ancient temples in China (Lingyan temple in Jinan, Yuquan temple in Dangyang, Qixia Temple in Nanjing and Guoqing temple in Tiantai).

The beginning of the construction
Lingyan temple, a famous Buddhist temple in China, was built in 479 in the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty. Lingyan temple was rebuilt in the reign of Zhenguan of Tang Dynasty (627-649) by huichong, an eminent monk.
After many vicissitudes
Lingyan temple has been abandoned for several times. Most of the existing temples are built after the Song Dynasty.
