Changzhou Hongmei Pavilion
Changzhou Hongmei Pavilion is located in the southeast corner of Changzhou Hongmei park. At the end of Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Shuitian temple, and later returned to Jianfu temple. It was said that it was written by Zhang boduan, the immortal Ziyang, the founder of Southern Taoism in Northern Song Dynasty, and belonged to Tianjing temple. At the end of Southern Song Dynasty, it was destroyed by war, and the Taoist temple was rebuilt in Yuan Dynasty. In the first year of Yuanzhen (1296), it was renamed Xuanmiao temple, and Feixia tower was built in the northeast of the temple. At the end of Yuan Dynasty, Feixia building was destroyed, and Hongmei pavilion was built in Ming Dynasty. After the rise and fall, the last one was destroyed in the period of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The existing building was rebuilt in 1900. The pavilion is built on a 2-meter-high platform with brick and wood structure, double eaves on the top of the mountain, an ambulatory under it, and a bucket arch. The pavilion, 17 meters high, is divided into upper and lower floors. Walls were originally built around it, but now they are replaced by stone railings. At the south end, there is the stone square with cloud crane pattern and the stone steps below, which is the access.
The four characters of "Tianqu main road" are engraved on the forehead of the square, with the inscription of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty; the couplets of stone pillars on both sides are as follows: "the road has its source, making contributions and virtues; the work has no stop, hoping for sages and heaven". The courtyard in front of the pavilion was originally planted with red plum and green bamboo, which is known as "the great beauty of Changjun" and "the likeness of the fairy capital". There are many inscriptions in the past dynasties, such as the stone statue of Ziyang immortal, the scripture office and the inscription of Jiange. Bingmei stone pillar in front of the pavilion is the original stone pillar of tianqingguan memorial archway in Yuan Dynasty. The stone is white and bright. It is called "Jia Yu Ge Yao" in Changzhou Fu by Qianlong of Qing Dynasty. It is commonly known as Bingmei stone. It is said that it is a wonder in the middle of Li Dynasty. The stone column is round, 2.5 meters long and 0.40 meters in diameter. Hongmei Pavilion is a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
