Sichuan Art Museum

Sichuan Art Museum is located in the center of Chengdu, the political, economic and cultural center of Western China. Located at No. 20, Renmin West Road, west of Tianfu Square, Shudu Avenue in the south, Renmin South Road in the East, people's Park, Provincial Exhibition Hall, Municipal Stadium and provincial cultural relic building, it is a golden area for culture, commerce, leisure and entertainment. Six sculptures of different styles are placed on the green lawn outside the art museum, which has become a cultural landmark of Chengdu and even Sichuan. Sichuan Art Museum covers an area of 6 mu, with a construction area of 6000 square meters. The exterior wall of the whole building is composed of black gray marble and curved glass curtain wall, which endows the concept of blending traditional and modern. Sichuan Art Museum was built in May 1992.

Sichuan Art Museum

Sichuan Art Museum (New Museum) is the seat of Sichuan Artists Association. It is located at the intersection of Dongchenggen street and Renmin West Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, northwest of Tianfu Square. It is an avant-garde building with a height of 38 meters and a total of 6 floors. It has two floors underground, six floors above the ground and four floors in some parts. It covers an area of 11 Mu and has a total construction area of 19000 square meters. The whole building is like a "Ruyi" building lying on the ground. It is composed of a polygonal main building and a rectangular auxiliary building. The auxiliary building adopts a sloping roof. From the front door, the wall looks like an open curtain, which is very beautiful and modern.

After completion in 2013, it will form a "cultural gathering area" with Sichuan Science and Technology Museum, Sichuan Provincial Library, Chengdu Museum, Jincheng Art Palace, Tianfu Grand Theater and other cultural venues around Tianfu Square.

Sichuan Art Museum covers an area of 6 mu. The exterior wall of the whole building is composed of black gray marble and curved glass curtain wall, which endows the concept of blending traditional and modern. Six sculptures of different styles are placed on the green lawn outside the art museum, which has become a cultural landmark of Chengdu and even Sichuan. The main hall of the Museum covers an area of about 300 square meters, with modern ebony carvings in the center, 5 meters high and 3 meters in circumference. On the left is a circular escalator, which goes up to the second and third exhibition halls. The exhibition halls are: exhibition hall 1 400 square meters, exhibition line 120 meters; exhibition hall 2 740 square meters, exhibition line 183 meters; exhibition hall 3 450 square meters, exhibition line 140 meters. There is a public area of nearly 200 square meters outside each exhibition hall. The height of space in the exhibition hall is 6 meters, and the height of exhibition wall is 4 meters.

The museum has a gallery (300 square meters), Shishu bookstore (200 square meters), art supplies counter, canteen, coffee shop, teahouse and other shopping and rest places; the East Building of the museum also has a special office area of six floors, including offices, conference rooms, material rooms, art collection rooms, etc., with a total area of 2400 square meters. There are seven 24 square meter standard rooms and open roof garden on the top floor of the museum. In addition, the museum is equipped with an elevator to facilitate the audience to visit and transport works.

Sichuan Art Museum is a national cultural institution with full financial allocation. Sichuan Art Museum has one curator, two deputy curators, exhibition planning department, collection and research department, organization and liaison department, office and other working departments. The staff of the art museum include some first-class or second-class national painters and art theory researchers, with a high level of artistic creation and research. Sichuan Art Museum now has a collection of nearly 200 masterpieces of calligraphy and paintings of celebrities since the song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. In addition, it has set up a special "Shenzhou print Museum" to collect nearly 4000 prints of Chinese and foreign printmakers since the May 4th movement.

Since its opening in 1992, Sichuan Art Museum has held about 50 exhibitions and academic exchange activities every year, with an average of 5-6 times. It receives 100000 visitors every year and receives several batches of foreign guests. In recent years, Sichuan Art Museum has held several exhibitions of art works in Sichuan Province every year, including Xu Beihong's painting exhibition, Pan Tianshou's painting exhibition, national Printmaking Exhibition, national landscape exhibition, Western China's Chinese painting exhibition, and various exhibitions in Taiwan, South Korea, solarization, Denmark, France and other regions and countries. It has a high reputation and influence at home and abroad.

New library planning

The new art museum, which started construction in 2010, will move more than 200 meters eastward to the west of the provincial science and Technology Museum. The new Provincial Art Museum covers an area of more than 10000 square meters. It will have high-tech security and painting collection facilities. It can introduce world-class paintings to exhibition and increase the number of its own collections. Academic exchanges and lectures will be held in the art museum, which can improve the appreciation level of the public and the pursuit of artistic enjoyment of the whole society. At the same time, the new provincial art museum is also equipped with coffee shop, restaurant, rest room and other auxiliary facilities, which can provide good services for the public. "The new Sichuan Provincial Art Museum will never lag behind the art museums in any western city." In addition: the provincial library will be built at the original site of the provincial art museum.
