Dingshou nunnery
Introduction to scenic spots
Dingshou nunnery is an ancient nunnery under the Great Buddha rock. Because the site of the nunnery is more than 200 meters above sea level and close to the peak of the Great Buddha rock, it is named dingshou nunnery. Dingshou nunnery was built in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. At the beginning, there were only three nunneries dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva and the sage of mubaian period. After a hundred years of wind and rain, in 1996, local people spontaneously built a new nunnery about 50 meters below the original nunnery site to worship the white Jade Guanyin sitting statue.
