The main collections of the Museum of Chinese agricultural civilization include more than 1000 ancient agricultural production tools, 346 original agricultural books and more than 3000 volumes, ancient agricultural life and cultural supplies, ancient agricultural crops and animal specimens, and various soil specimens at home and abroad. Among them, the Ming Dynasty Jiajing Ma Zhiqing's Edition Qimin Yaoshu, Chongzhen pinglutang's Edition Nongzheng Quanshu, the Ming Dynasty's Edition Baikong Liutie of Tang and Song Dynasties, and the Ming Dynasty's Edition Huashi zuojie were listed as rare ancient books by the State Council's ancient book sorting group.
Treasure of town hall
According to Wang Siming, President of the Academy of Humanities and social sciences of Nannong University and director of the Agricultural Museum, there are three treasures of the Agricultural Museum. One is the egg from the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, which is probably the oldest egg in the world. When they were unearthed, they were put in a pottery jar. After more than 2000 years, they became very fragile. The museum only removed a very shallow layer of soil from the pottery jar and revealed six or seven eggs. The rest of the soil was still sealed in the clay of the pottery jar. Therefore, they did not know how many eggs were in the jar. The other is a set of eight Ming Jiajing engraved edition of Qi Min Yao Shu, which has a history of 480 years. This is the earliest and most complete agricultural book in China. There are only two sets in China. The other set is stored in Shanghai Museum. The third is the earliest penicillin in China, which was brought back from abroad by Mr. Fan Qingsheng in the 1940s and successfully developed. Once it was put into production, it was immediately applied to the Anti Japanese War and cured countless Chinese soldiers and civilians.
Collection of cultural relics
In order to enrich the exhibits, the museum has been collecting cultural relics from all over the country since September 2003. The collection areas are mainly concentrated in Shaanxi, Shanxi and Shandong, the birthplace of the Yellow River civilization, and Jiangsu and Zhejiang, the birthplace of the Yangtze River civilization. Hundreds of cultural relics have been collected. Among them are stone tools, stone knives and stone axes more than 6000 years ago, carbonized seeds more than 7000 years ago, and bones of domesticated poultry more than 8000 years ago. In addition, there are a large number of models, colorful pictures and many works of famous artists reflecting farmland cultivation and folk customs. There are many interesting cultural relics: there is a pottery paddy field of the Eastern Han Dynasty, a national first-class cultural relic. In addition to vividly showing that the fields with crops are divided into different shapes, we can also see a turtle and a yellow oyster in the field. On a Han Dynasty pottery stove, there are not only ladles, brushes, fire hooks, fish and chickens, but also a furtive oil stealing mouse. A glazed pottery bottle rarely uses a Boshan stove like lid. There are ancient auspicious animals such as bears, tigers and wolves in the high mountains. At the foot of the bottle are three cute little bears. A pair of wooden painted earth father-in-law and mother-in-law in Suzhou in the Qing Dynasty look kind-hearted. The earth father-in-law wears a round outer hat, has a white beard, and holds a Yuan Bao in his right hand. The chubby earth mother-in-law is dressed in colorful clothes, and her hands are caged in wide sleeves. In addition, some labor tools and daily necessities reflect the development of agricultural science and technology and culture in ancient China.
