Luyuanping

Banqiao luyuanping is an undeveloped and isolated place. Surrounded by steep cliffs, it takes more than 1000 stone steps to reach luyuanping. It is one of the tourist spots that can't be missed by outdoor hikers. It must be a good trip to be here.

Luyuanping

Luyuanping is located in Xintian village, Banqiao Town, Enshi City, Enshi Grand Canyon development zone. It is one of the undeveloped scenic spots of Mufu Grand Canyon. Luyuanping Canyon can be reached by driving about 3 minutes from Xintian village, Banqiao Town to Zhongba (westbound after Xintian primary school).

The average altitude of luyuanping is 1700m. There are two rivers in the scenic area, one is liuliao River and the other is Zhonghe river. Luyuanping is located in Zhonghe River Basin, deep in the gap of the canyon, surrounded by cliffs. From shanshangqiaowan pass to gudiqiaowan, there is a vertical drop of more than 500 meters. If you dig a road from the cliff, because you use dozens of zigzag turns, you have to walk more than 1000 meters. There are 1520 steps, almost a kilometer of road. Because of this special terrain, the mountains, rivers, forests, fields, roads and farmhouses in luyuanping remain original.

Geographical culture

This is the only village with no roads.

With an average altitude of 1700 meters, it covers an area of about 5 square kilometers and is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The cliffs form a natural barrier. There are only four paths in and out, which looks like a huge strip-shaped Tiankeng. There are two rivers, one is liuliao River, the other is Zhonghe River and luyuanping river

It's two legs to get in and out of the village.

People in the village still use the farming method of hundreds of years ago. They grow their own tea, cook their own wine, and cook with firewood. If you go out for heating, you can dig coal (coal is a kind of rock coal exposed outside the surface).

The houses of the villagers are mainly stilted buildings. The main house is made of wooden boards and surrounded by railings. It is very ventilated and warm. The roof is covered with tiles. People live upstairs and livestock and sundries are closed downstairs. These old-fashioned home buildings, with remarkable historical features, are living fossils of Tujia traditional architecture.

Villagers' food, production tools and daily necessities

The food, production tools and living utensils of the villagers are basically produced by themselves up to now. There are artificial stone mills, water mills, carved stone vats, single wood bellows, windmills, wooden storage containers and other production and living tools everywhere in the village. Their simplicity solidifies history and conveys ancient cultural information. 　　

For those who have studied in middle school, I think most of them remember Tao Yuanming's Taohuayuan Ji. In Taiyuan Middle School of Jin Dynasty, Wuling people, fishing for business, traveling along the river, forgetting the distance of the road, suddenly meeting the peach blossom forest. Jiaan hundreds of steps, no miscellaneous trees, fresh grass, falling flowers. The fishermen are very different. Go back and forth, want to be poor. If the forest runs out of water, there will be a mountain. The mountain has a small mouth, as if there were light. Then she gave up the boat and entered from the mouth. At the beginning, he was very narrow, and then he was able to understand people. The land is flat and open, and the house is just like that. For people in luyuanping, the paradise described by Tao Yuanming is their own home.

History gets its name

At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, because of the war, the population of Sichuan and its adjacent areas decreased sharply, and the land was desolate. The imperial court implemented the immigration policy of "Jiangxi fills Huguang, Huguang fills Sichuan", and a large number of Guizhou and Hunan people moved to Enshi.

Pei Kesong, Pei Keqian, Pei Kelu brothers and others from Taoyuan County, Changde Prefecture, Hunan Province moved to Banqiao Xintian, North Township, Enshi County, Nanfu Prefecture, and tried to plant the rice brought by Hunan Province. They only blossomed but did not bear seeds. They realized that the terrain was high and looked for a place with low terrain. They found that there was a lush area at the bottom of the deep mountain gorge, but there was no way to go down. They hung 36 pieces of white cloth on the cliff of hepingkou in luyuanping, and pulled them Down to the bottom of the cliff with the white cloth, you can see that there are mountains on both sides, flat in the middle, a river flowing in the middle, hundreds of waterfalls hanging on the side, warm climate, fertile land, and towering ancient trees. I'm very happy. But when I went back, the white cloth hanging on the cliff was bitten off by Flying Tigers (flying squirrels), so I couldn't go up, and I had finished my food. I was worried. I saw a group of beautiful mountain deer walking up the river to jinqiaowan cliff, so I followed them and finally climbed to the top of the cliff. Later, I dug a road from here to the bottom of the cliff, reclaimed land on the two cliffs of Zhonghe River, and planted rice and Camellia oleifera successfully. Some people of Pei's family came back to new life After Tian moved here, people surnamed Zhu, Zhou, Li and Hou moved here one after another to explore together.

Lu Yuanping was discovered by Pei, and because Lu led the way out of the predicament, it was first called Lu Yinping. Later, because Lu became people's good friend and frequented the courtyard where people lived, it was called Lu Yuanping.
