Shizilin Bridge

Shizilin bridge is located across the Haihe River, connecting the ancient culture street scenic area and wanghailou area. It is a landmark bridge on the Haihe River.

The lions on the bridge are in different shapes, lively, black and white, very lovely.

Shizilin Bridge

Shizilin bridge is one of the earliest bridges using prestressed concrete cantilever technology in highway bridge construction in China.

The total length of the bridge is 96.6m, and the span is 24 + 45 + 24 (m), which is composed of single cantilever beam and 8m long hanging beam; the width of the bridge is 2 × 3 + 18 (m).

In 1994, a new bridge was built on each side of the old bridge. The width of the new bridge is 9.3m. The structural section of the new bridge is a three span variable cross-section prestressed concrete box continuous beam with a span of 25.2m + 45m + 25.2m. In August 2003, the urban construction group successfully lifted the whole bridge with a height of 1.271m, and finally became today's Shizilin bridge.

Shizilin bridge is located on the Haihe River at the junction of Nankai District, Hongqiao District and Hebei District.

The original bridge was built in 1954, with a length of 93 meters and a width of 24.6 meters. The main bridge is divided into three spans, with a span of 24m + 45m + 24m. The structure is a variable cross-section prestressed concrete box continuous cantilever beam.

It was widened to 43 meters in 1994. A new bridge will be built on each side of the old bridge. The width of the new bridge is 9.3m. The structural section of the new bridge is a three span variable cross-section prestressed concrete box continuous beam with a span of 25.2m + 45m + 25.2m.

In August 2003, in the comprehensive development and reconstruction of Haihe River, because the clearance of the old bridge does not meet the navigation requirements of Haihe River, Tianjin Urban Construction Design Institute completed the overall jacking design of the bridge, and successfully applied the jacking translation technology to the field of bridge reconstruction for the first time in China, realizing a major breakthrough in domestic bridge reconstruction technology.

The project was carried out by Tianjin urban construction group general contracting company, and the whole bridge body was lifted successfully by using computer control technology, with the lifting height of 1.271m.

Design concept

The new bridge landscape design adopts the modern design concept, in line with the principle of creating a world-famous River, building a bridge and a scene, and on the basis of fully considering the coordination between the Haihe River and the surrounding landscape and construction, it retains the original four stone lions at the bridgehead, and at the same time, hundreds of new stone lions in different parts such as the bridge railing, bridge body, pier, etc.

In particular, the relief of the lion image is used at the pier, which means that when people travel through here, they can also see the lovely little lion under the bridge, fully reflecting the characteristics of Shizilin bridge.

There are different shapes of lions, each one is different, some roar, some bow to rest, and some are lively and lovely. They have become a veritable lion forest.

In addition, color asphalt will be used for the first time in the deck treatment of Shizilin bridge, and the lighting treatment is unique, especially at night. In order not to affect the overall landscape of Shizilin bridge, the gas pipeline beside Shizilin bridge is also changed to cross under the river.

In the light processing is unique, the night effect is particularly spectacular.

Uplift Engineering

The lifting project of Shizilin bridge is the first successful application of jacking translation technology in the field of bridge reconstruction in China, which is a major breakthrough in domestic bridge reconstruction technology and a pioneer in the field of urban bridge design.

The lifting of Shizilin bridge is unprecedented in China and the first lifting project in China!

In less than one month, the old Shizilin bridge, which weighs 4200 tons and has gone through 30 years of wind and rain, was lifted to its original position by the bridge. Using computer control technology, after the whole bridge was raised, the temporary support was made first, and the cast-in-place concrete-filled steel tubular column was used as permanent support. After reaching the design strength standard, the support was placed in place. Finally, the overall "length and height" of the original bridge was 1.271 meters, creating a Chinese Bridge A miracle in the history of Liang Dynasty.

Landscape on the bridge

There are 184 lions on the Shizilin bridge.

Originally, there were three kinds of lions on the Shizilin bridge. One was two pairs of white marble stone carvings with the same shape at the end of the bridge, and the other was high relief carvings on the stone stacks between the bridge railings,

The third is the cast iron lion on the balustrade column between the stone stacks. The three kinds add up to 184 lions on the Shizilin bridge.

As the symbol of Shizilin bridge, the four stone lions at the head of the bridge have been renovated, and 1177 new large and small lions have been added to different parts of the bridge, making the bridge a veritable "Shizilin".
