Changganmen
Changganmen, located at the southern end of the Ming City Wall in Nanjing, is between Zhonghua Gate and Jiqing gate. It is named after the ancient changganli. It is an additional gate after the founding of the people's Republic of China. It was completed in 2008.
In front of Changgan gate is Yinma bridge, which crosses Zhongshan South Road. The gate is composed of five arches. Nanjing Metro Line 1 passes through the middle main gate. The modern urban traffic subway is interwoven with the ancient city wall and Qinhuai River, forming a new landscape in the south of the city.
Because changganmen crosses the urban trunk road, considering that the traffic of motor vehicles and subway will not be affected, changganmen is composed of one main gate and four side gates. The main gate crosses the track line of Metro Line 1. The two side gates close to the main gate are left and right fast lanes, and there are two arches on both sides for citizens to use. This format is unprecedented in Nanjing city gate.
introduce
The Changgan gate consists of a main gate and four side gates. The main gate crosses the track line of Nanjing Metro Line 1, and the two side gates close to the main gate are specially used for motor vehicles. Considering the safety of citizens, there are two arches on both sides of the motorway for citizens to pass.
At that time, in order to open the south passage out of the city, Zhongshan South Road was demolished to repair the road, leaving a gap in the ancient city wall. In order to protect the continuous integrity of the Nanjing city wall, the relevant departments decided to repair this section of the city wall and connect the city wall by opening a new door.
Original name
The origin of the name "changganmen" is related to the ancient place name "changganli" in Nanjing.
In 472 BC, Gou Jian, king of Yue, ordered Fan Li to build the city outside the Zhonghua Gate (ancient changganli) of Nanjing. This is the earliest city built in Nanjing, which is called "Yue city" in history. Because the city building project was presided over by Fan Li, it is also called "Fan Li City". Li Bai once had a poem as evidence: "Lang rode a bamboo horse and went around the bed to make green plum.". Living together for a long time, the two kids have no problem guessing... " As Li Bai said, changganli is just outside the Zhonghua Gate in Nanjing. It has always been a place with strong atmosphere of urban life in old Nanjing. It used to be a water transport wharf in Nanjing in ancient times, and later became the most concentrated place in shantytowns. In order to improve the surrounding environment of the city wall, the government made great efforts to rectify, repair the city wall and demolish the shacks. As a place name, changganli no longer exists, and the original place has been turned into a small recreational garden with beautiful environment and by the wall and water. The use of ancient place names in the name of the new city gate also highlights the rich historical heritage of the ancient city of Nanjing.
