There are more than 350 horses in the seven horse gangs headed by Ma Ruji in damaguotou. They travel to and from East Asian countries and exchange goods. Education status

Ma Ruji, the owner of the Ma family compound, was born in 1897 in the Islamic family of donglianhua village, Yongji Township, Menghua county. His deeds are still praised by the township. At that time, there were more than 100 horses in his caravan. The caravan was mainly engaged in transportation of sugar, tea, silk and hemp. Under the influence of his parents, he studied scriptures since childhood and had a solid knowledge of Islam. At that time, the Mitang River, which was across the dam of Shangchuan, was often inundated because of its high height and low dam, causing heavy losses of people's lives and property. Ma Ruji organized and led the people of all ethnic groups in the disaster area to offer advice and money. He built a 300 meter long, 1.5 meter wide and 2 meter high stone dike with five sided stones in the reach of Yongji bridge, where floods often burst. Since then, in more than 60 years, there has been no accident of burst harming the people in this reach. Today, the local elders are also very honored to have built the flood control dike with Ma Ruji for the benefit of future generations. Ma Ruji's enthusiasm for public welfare is well-known in Menghua county. During the period of the Republic of China, Menghua County repaired Gongchen building, and he gave a lot of money to support it. The county governor praised him for his kindness and charity. During MA Ruji's political career, he made friends with businessmen, political and military dignitaries as well as local businessmen. He helped the caravan of Menghua County Travel South and North on the ancient tea horse road, and dredged all the barriers for business and trade.
