Yangkou Port
Yangkou Port is an offshore deep-water port located in Changsha Town, Rudong County, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the north wing of the Yangtze River Estuary and leads to the Yellow Sea International route by using the ancient Yangtze River estuary waterway. At present, it is composed of sunshine island offshore operation area, Changsha Town Harbor Industrial Zone, Yellow Sea Bridge and other land and sea supporting facilities. Yangkou Port plays an important role in the social development of Rudong County. "Port leading" is the primary strategy of county economy. After the completion of the first ten-year development cycle of Yangkou Port, the start-up area has completed a considerable scale of infrastructure construction and the commissioning of key industrial projects such as PetroChina, which has initially realized the return on output. On August 10, 2014, the State Council agreed to open the first-class port to the outside world. A total of 6910 meters of coastline and 15 berths were opened to the outside world, and frontier inspection agencies at regiment level and maritime, customs and entry-exit inspection and quarantine agencies at department level were set up.

Preliminary work

Since then, from 1986 to 1996, Rudong County Government organized and commissioned the first navigation academy of the Ministry of communications, Nanjing University, Hohai University and other design and research institutions and institutions of higher learning to carry out exploration and Research on the basic situation and port construction engineering conditions of Yangkou Port, and formed a number of research conclusions that passed the examination of academicians and experts. In 1997, Rudong County commissioned the second Institute of Oceanography of the people's Republic of China to measure the tide, wave and hydrology in the project area for one year, accumulating a large amount of basic engineering data. In the same year, Rudong County commissioned the first navigation Institute of the Ministry of communications to carry out the artificial island research.
In 2002, Nantong put forward the strategy of "prospering the city with port", opening up and constructing coastal ports, developing port industrial belt, improving the carrying capacity of accepting international capital and industrial transfer, and realizing the linkage between the river and the sea. The development of Yangkou Port has entered a comprehensive stage.
The scientific research of Yangkou Port is progressing smoothly, but there are many difficulties in fund raising and project reserve. Due to the difficulty of construction and large investment, many enterprises are deterred. Until the joint efforts of PetroChina Jiangsu LNG project and Hong Kong Baohua Dexiang group port development project, Yangkou Port was able to enter the substantive development and construction

The first decade
In September 2003, the "Chang Hang Jiang" sailed into the West taiyangsha channel successfully, realizing the landmark breakthrough that the Yangkou Port could successfully navigate the giant ship. Subsequently, the reclamation of Lingang Industrial Zone was officially started.
In December 2004, Nantong municipal government successfully held a report meeting on the development of Yangkou Port in Nanjing. At the meeting, relevant leaders made clear their position and incorporated the various plans of Yangkou Port into the provincial "Eleventh Five Year" development plan and the "Yangtze River Delta" plan. During this period, PetroChina Jiangsu LNG project and Lingang wind power project started one after another.
In April 2004, the State Council approved the right to use 30 square kilometers of the sea area of Yangkou Port.
On April 29, 2005, Jiangsu LNG project with a total investment of about 16 billion yuan was approved by the national development and Reform Commission and formally agreed to carry out preliminary work. With the support of this project, the infrastructure of Yangkou Port has been promoted rapidly. In September 2005, the Yellow Sea Bridge project connecting the land island was officially started. In the same year, Yangkou Avenue, Yangkou canal and other collection and distribution systems started construction one after another.
In December 2006, the 1.44 square kilometer offshore artificial island project was officially launched. On October 28, 2008, Yangkou Port announced its initial navigation.

natural condition
According to the research since the 1990s, there are more than 70 tidal channels in the radial sandbanks along the coast of Jiangsu Province. Among them, the langshayang, where the wharf of Yangkou Port is located, is the main tidal channel in the radial sandbanks. The west end of the channel extends deeper. There is a deep channel in the channel. The natural water depth is - 20m to 30m, and the deep water area is more than 10 square kilometers.
In the north of the waterway, there is a natural cover of taiyangsha and taiyangsha, and in the south, there is a natural cover of Xitaiyangsha and dahonggengzi. The waterway is straight and has good protection conditions. The waves in the open sea will naturally reduce after passing through the sandbank, so there is no need to build a breakwater. -The 15 isobath directly leads to the deep water area of the open sea, which is an ideal deep-water wharf area. Large ships of 100000-300000 DWT can enter the harbor for berthing after a little dredging. Due to the better tidal dynamic conditions and sediment conditions, the siltation phenomenon will not be caused, and the stability and water depth of the channel in the dredging area can also be maintained. The West taiyangsha, 1600 meters to the south of the deep trough, dries out nearly 6 square kilometers at low tide. Restricted by the langshayang waterway and the West taiyangshanan waterway, its core part is stable for a long time and can be built as an artificial island for the port storage area. In addition, there is a large area of beach along the coast for reclamation and development, which has no impact on agricultural production. Sunshine island operation area, planning area of 3 square kilometers, can build 37 berths. Among them, 22 berths of 50000-100000 tons or above are arranged in the North terminal area, and 15 berths of 20000-50000 tons or above are arranged in the South Terminal Area, with a shoreline of 3810m
. The operation area is the starting area of Yangkou Port, and the first offshore artificial island sunshine island of Yangkou Port has been built.
The East taiyangsha operation area, with a planning area of 6 square kilometers, can build 14 berths of 250000-300000 DWT. The operation area is located in the east of sunshine island, which is the long-term core of Yangkou Port positioning as a deep-water port. It is planned to build the second offshore artificial island of Yangkou Port.
Jinniu Bay operation area, with a planning area of 81 square kilometers, can build 122 berths of 50000-100000 DWT. Located off the east coast of Changsha, the third offshore artificial island of Yangkou Port was originally planned to be built, and then the surrounding harbor basin was constructed. Around the port operation area, the planning area of 30 square kilometers, focus on the development of 20000-50000 tons of shore type dig in port. Located between "xiaoyangkou" and "dayangkou", the preliminary work of development and construction was started in the second half of 2012

Land island connection
The Yellow Sea Bridge and pipeline bridge will be built between sunshine island and the coast of Changsha Town. In the future, it is planned to build ocean railway, Shangdao railway and Huanghai second bridge. A long-distance sea crossing bridge is also needed between the first artificial island and the second artificial island.
Lingang Industrial Zone
Port industry is mainly concentrated in the Northeast coastline of Rudong County. About 35 square kilometers of land was formed in the third phase of coastal reclamation in Changsha Town for port industrial development. The third phase of reclamation project was completed in 2013
