Huaibei museum is a comprehensive museum of landlords. It was built in August 2001 and started in September 2004. It covers an area of more than 40 mu, with a construction area of 10670 square meters and a total investment of 35 million yuan. The title of Huaibei museum was written by Guo Moruo, an outstanding writer, poet, playwright, historian and archaeologist in modern China in 1977. Huaibei museum is a building that combines coal culture with Sui Tang canal culture. It is designed by Professor Qi Kang, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering and architecture expert of Southeast University. It symbolizes that Huaibei, a coal city, is like a ship sailing through the wind and waves, marching forward bravely in the history and the long river to a bright future. Its architectural style has both historical vicissitudes and modern rhythm. Huaibei Museum has eight fixed exhibition halls: Sui and Tang Dynasty porcelain hall, Han Dynasty stone portrait hall, twelve famous people hall, canal legacy hall, Song Dynasty porcelain hall, painting and calligraphy hall, planning hall and ancient treasure hall, which respectively display the cultural relics unearthed in Huaibei area and the collected calligraphy and paintings of National celebrities. Our museum also has two temporary exhibition halls, which organize and hold exhibitions from time to time, such as "Huaihai battle Exhibition", "insect specimen Exhibition", "marine Specimen Exhibition", etc. all of which have produced great social benefits, played a positive role in enriching people's spiritual life, carrying forward excellent history and culture, and are the window of our city's spiritual civilization construction.

As of May 2019, the Huaibei Museum has a collection of tens of thousands of cultural relics, with an exhibition area of 5000 square meters. The exhibition topics include ceramics of Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties, doubts about the canal, Han Dynasty stone reliefs and historical celebrities of Huaibei, porcelain of Song Dynasty, ancient treasures, securities relics, Huaihai Campaign, calligraphy and painting, etc.
The cultural relics unearthed from Liuzi Grand Canal site of Sui and Tang Dynasties in Huaibei account for more than 70% of the cultural relics in the museum. The museum also collects unearthed cultural relics from the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period to the Qin and Han Dynasties in Huaibei, which reproduces the glory of Huaibei as a regional political, economic and cultural center from different aspects.

The first floor mainly displays the sunken ships unearthed from the Grand Canal of Sui and Tang Dynasties, the ceramics of Sui, Tang and Song Dynasties, and the Han Dynasty stone reliefs. The second floor mainly displays the cultural relics, old stocks, Huaihai Campaign and modern urban planning of the Han Dynasty unearthed from Huaibei. The ceramic Hall of Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties mainly displays a large number of Tang Dynasty Kiln Ceramics unearthed from Liuzi site of Sui and Tang canals.
Grand Canal Hall
There is a stone tablet engraved with "liujiangkou" in the hall of the Grand Canal, as well as a huge "canal excavation map", which reproduces the scene of the Grand Canal excavation in Sui and Tang Dynasties. At the same time, the hall also shows the restoration of Liuzi site, and the scene shows a cargo ship of the Tang Dynasty. Unfortunately, when this cargo ship was unearthed, only part of its hull was damaged.

As of May 2019, Huaibei Museum has tens of thousands of cultural relics, with a display area of 5000 square meters. At the same time, the museum displays more than 600 pieces of fine cultural relics selected from the relics unearthed from the canal site of Sui and Tang Dynasties. The porcelains on display are mainly green and yellow glaze, with a small amount of white glaze and sauce glaze. The glaze is thick, with half glaze inside and outside. It has the characteristics of typical Sui Dynasty utensils, such as flat bottomed pots, pots and deep belly bowls. There are also many different glaze colors such as yellow, green, white, black and tricolor, and a few kiln changed glaze, color spots, poem inscriptions and other decorations. The utensils include cake bottom, jade Bi bottom, flat bottom and shoulder with ears. The pots, bowls, basins, cups and holding pots with typical characteristics of Tang Dynasty utensils. In addition, white glaze, black glaze, blue glaze and shadow blue glaze are the main glaze colors. Most of the glaze is not applied to the bottom. The white glaze kuikou bowl, black glaze paper-cut applicator, shadow blue glaze engraving and printing bottle with typical characteristics of Song Dynasty utensils are popular.

Huaibei City Museum and 17 primary, middle and primary schools in Huaibei City jointly build a patriotic education base to provide extra-curricular classrooms for teenagers; broaden the forms of exhibition, organize various large temporary exhibitions to enrich the spiritual life of the citizens; in order to make cultural relics live, it has long insisted on sending exhibitions and lectures to military barracks, factories and mines, schools and communities, which are very popular; and it has regularly organized internal and external specialized schools in Anhui Province Public lectures will be held at home.
On March 7, 2019, the staff of Huaibei Museum walked into fangwulou primary school, Shuoli Town, Huaibei City, with "golden pig Gongfu - joint exhibition of cultural relics of the Chinese zodiac of the new year of the year of the year of 1911". In 1999, the Grand Canal site of Sui and Tang Dynasties was discovered in Liuzi town of Huaibei City due to the widening of the road. The site unearthed a number of Tang Dynasty sunken ships, a Song Dynasty stone structure building and a large number of Tang and Song dynasty porcelains from more than 20 kilns in China. There are more than 1000 complete and repairable wares, and hundreds of thousands of porcelain pieces.
The tail rudder in the Grand Canal hall is of great research value in the history of Chinese shipbuilding, and its excavation is also the first time. It is a transitional rudder from the original rudder in hand to the vertical rudder in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is called "Huaibei rudder" by ancient ship research experts.
The ancient ceramics of Huaibei museum is a miniature of China's Sui, Tang and song porcelain. It is a base for studying the Grand Canal of Sui and Tang Dynasties and the development history of Chinese ceramics, as well as the politics, economy and culture of this period. It is also a palace of knowledge.
