Wanglutai

Wanglutai was built by Yan Chen, a great educator of Confucius during the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. It is located in Qianyang County, Shaanxi Province, more than 2400 years ago. It is the first platform of respecting teachers in China. 　 

Wanglutai is 11 meters high and 35 meters in diameter. Its surrounding area and square cover an area of more than 8000 square meters. Although it has gone through many vicissitudes and historical changes, it is still well protected, majestic and tall. It is not only a platform of true feelings accumulated by Yan Chen's painstaking efforts and concrete actions, but also a platform of respecting teachers by Yan Chen's virtue, beauty and spirit. Its profound cultural accumulation and historical implication are all embodied in Yan Chen's sincere respect for his teachers and his complex of respecting his teachers when he ascended to Lu. This is the condensation and release of Yan Chen's true feelings and behavior of respecting his teachers. It is the historical witness and true portrayal of the fine tradition of respecting teachers and education of the Chinese nation. It is a great creative feat in the history of Chinese education.

Wanglutai is the place where Confucius disciple Yan Chen respected his teacher Confucius. It is located in Qianyang County, Baoji City. It is known as "the first platform of respecting teachers in China". Yan Chen is one of the seventy-two sages.

history

Yan Yan (541-476 BC), Zi Si, was born in yanjiashan (Shuigou village, Shuigou Town, Qianyang County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province), a disciple of Confucius and one of the 72 sages. Yan Chen went to Lu three times in his life to learn from Confucius. After returning to Li, he taught in Yuyang (today's peijiatai in Qianyang County) for 18 years, actively imparting Confucius theory. After he died, the imperial court granted him great gifts: in 739, Emperor Xuanzong granted him Yuyang uncle; in 1009, Emperor Zhenzong granted him qianyuanhou; in Ming Dynasty, he was called "Xianxian swallow". There are tablets and stone statues of Chen, and there are also statues of Yan in the temple of sages. Yan Chen is modest and honest, and he is very popular with Confucius. After returning to Li from Lu for the second time, Yan Chen set up a school in Yuyang in 501 BC. He received all kinds of disciples and spread Confucianism. He trained a large number of talents for Qinlong, Sichuan, Yunnan, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, and promoted the great development of local education, economy and culture. Yan Chen is the only virtuous disciple of Confucius in Northwest China, "the first to set up a teaching hall in the Western Qin Dynasty", and has made great contributions in promoting national culture and inheriting Confucianism. During his 18 years of teaching in Yuyang, Yan Chen was eager to think of his teacher, so he climbed to the Loess Plateau behind the school every day and looked far away at the state of Lu. In order to stand higher and look farther, Yan Chen used his clothes to lift his feet to climb to look at Lu. Day after day, year after year, a cone-shaped platform was formed, which later generations called "Wanglu platform" or "Yanchen Wanglu platform".
