Located in the southwest of the county, 105 kilometers away from the county government. Population 5289 (2017). It covers an area of 1531.79 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over five animal husbandry committees, namely Baiyu, longer, Oko, Kesuo and shepherd. Baiyu district was established in 1955, Baiyu commune in 1958, Baiyu Township in 1962, Baiyu commune in 1969 and Baiyu Township in 1984. It is located in the mountain plain and river valley, where makqu (River) and okqu (River) flow through the territory. The mineral deposits include gold, antimony, tin, etc. Animal husbandry is the main livestock, including Tibetan sheep, yak and hequma. The territory is rich in wild animal and plant resources, producing Fritillaria, Cordyceps, rhubarb, Gentiana, Gansong and other precious medicinal materials. County and township roads cross the border and connect with Qinghai Sichuan highway.
