Qiuxian martyrs cemetery is located in the east of the south section of Jianshe Road in Qiuxian county. In October 1968, he moved from Matou village to the north. Qiuxian martyrs cemetery is located in the east of the south section of Jianshe street in Qiuxian county. In October 1958, 13.62 mu of land was purchased for the initial construction of martyrs' cemetery. In November 1968, with the approval of the Department of civil affairs of Hebei Province, the county Revolutionary Committee rebuilt the former martyrs' cemetery. A martyr memorial tower is built in the park, with a height of 11.93 meters. The front of the tower is engraved with eight characters in Mao Zedong's handwriting: "sacrifice for the country (changed to people's hero in 2005) is immortal.". It is engraved with "carry forward the revolutionary tradition and strive for greater glory." "Supreme glory" on the left and "long live the martyrs" on the right. On the back, "to die for the people is a glorious death." There is a hexagonal Memorial Pavilion in the east of the tower. There are three meters high and one meter wide stone tablets on each side of the memorial Pavilion. Cemetery renovation
In 2005, the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Anti Japanese War, in order to remember the revolutionary martyrs and educate future generations, the county Party committee and the county government complied with the public opinion, invested 230000 yuan to carry out a large-scale overall transformation of the cemetery, and built a new antique gate with six characters of "Qiu county martyrs cemetery" on the gate. The memorial tower, four monuments and pavilions will be rebuilt, and the memorial wall of the revolutionary martyrs will be built. The total construction area is 2500 square meters, including a memorial tower (Monument) with a construction area of 96 square meters, four single monuments with a construction area of 40 square meters, a hexagonal Qiuxian revolutionary memorial pavilion with a construction area of 80 square meters, nine characters of "Qiuxian revolutionary martyrs memorial Pavilion" engraved on the front, and Mao Zedong's titles of "sacrifice for the country, forever", "people's Heroes" engraved on the other five corners, Zhu De's title is "revolutionary martyrs are immortal"; Deng Xiaoping's title is "shining through the ages"; Peng Dehuai's title is "martyrs' blood, nation's flower". A memorial wall (recording 942 martyrs) with a length of 16.2 meters and a building area of 44 square meters was built; four revolutionary history memorial halls in Qiuxian county with a building area of 160 square meters were built; the ground around the hardened Memorial Pavilion and the activity area of bluestone guardrail were 1630 square meters, and the forest curved Leisure Road with a length of 210 meters and an area of 450 square meters was built against the background of more than 200 cypress trees that have been growing for 38 years. After the overall transformation, Qiuxian martyrs cemetery takes on a new look and becomes a large-scale patriotic education base with standardized management in the east of Handan city.
Praise of martyrs
On September 2, 1946, the Qiuxian county Party committee of the Communist Party of China held a memorial meeting for 539 martyrs who died for their country during the Anti Japanese war in Matou, which was attended by nearly a thousand people. It also changed the North ancient temple of Matou village into a martyr's ancestral hall, and set up a memorial tablet for each martyr to remind future generations that they will never forget it. The martyrs who died in Qiu county during the Anti Japanese war were all buried by the masses organized by the county government. All local martyrs are buried in their hometown with coffins purchased by the government, while foreign martyrs are buried in martyrs' sacrificial villages by the masses because of the war environment. Foreign martyrs who died during the Anti Japanese war are buried in 48 villages of the county. After 1993, the county committee of caring for the next generation united with the township (town) and village where the martyrs were located to set up monuments for the five martyrs who died during the Anti Japanese war.
There are still unknown martyrs buried in the following villages: 8 in Dongmu village, 8 in zhangshengzhuang village, 7 in Wenzhuang village, 1 in Hanzhuang village and 1 in Zhongzhong village. In addition to the northwest of xiangchenggu village, fuxinzhuang, Linhe and dongliushangu (belonging to Linxi County) all buried unknown martyrs.
