Liu rangong's former residence is located at 66 Jianguo Road, Hebei District. Built in the period of the Republic of China, the whole former residence is a brick and wood structure two-story building with Italian architectural style. The total area of the compound is 2330.16 square meters, with 24 rooms in a two-story building. The basement has the same structure as the building, with a total of 12 rooms. There is also a corridor with eaves and columns outside the back building, which is connected by towers, gorgeous and magnificent. The front building is the residence of the family members, and the back building is the location of the new Tianjin daily. Liu rangong's former residence has been reconstructed several times, but the appearance of the main building has not been damaged. Many old materials have been preserved, and some window frames and railings are the original of that year. Liu rangong's former residence used to be a well-known newspaper in Modern Tianjin, which is now used by Tianjin timber company. They are listed as immovable cultural relics that have not yet been announced as cultural relics protection units in Tianjin.
Personage introduction
Liu rangong (1895-1938) was named "Zhongru" and "rangong". Zhili (now Hebei) Wuqing (now Tianjin) Yang Village seven street people, Hui. He once served as a soldier of the new army of the Qing Dynasty, a clerk of the French Embassy in China, and a detective chief of the Ministry of trade of the French concession in Tianjin. In 1924, in cooperation with Duan Songpo and Xue yuelou, he founded the new Tianjin daily, which boasted of being civilian and daring to speak. In order to cater to the interest of readers, we tried out "storytelling report" and serialized such novels as "three swordsmen" with full page length, so as to expand the market of newspapers, which spread far to the northeast and northwest. Since then, six newspapers and periodicals have been published successively, including new Tianjin evening news, new Tianjin Xiao Bao, literature and art daily, new Tianjin pictorial, and new people monthly. In addition, newspapers were expanded, private radio stations were set up and correspondence schools were set up. Before the fall of Tianjin in 1937, the new Tianjin daily publicized the Anti Japanese War fiercely. After the fall of Tianjin, it was arrested and severely tortured by Japanese aggressors in the third special district of Tianjin on August 3, 1937. After that, the imams of the major Muslim temples in Tianjin signed a joint pledge to go on bail for medical treatment, and soon passed away.
