Hangzhou Yuquan
There is a rectangular pool called "Yuquan" in Qinglian temple in the north of Xiangu mountain in Hangzhou West Lake. The water of Yuquan is clear and crystal. In 1964, on the basis of the old temple, it was rebuilt into a courtyard with Jiangnan garden characteristics, covering an area of 0.73 hectares (7300 square meters). The whole group of buildings are built with powder walls and leaky windows, and the corridors are connected with each other. There are scenes in the scenery and gardens in the garden. The ingenious layout gives people a deep and peaceful feeling.
The gate of the newly-built Yuquan courtyard is opposite to the garden gate. When you enter the gate, you will see a large square window frame. In the small patio of the frame, you will find a huge lake stone and a few green bamboos. It is like pushing a natural freehand brushwork of bamboo and stone to the eyes of visitors, which makes people suspect that it is in the depth of the picture. At the end of the spacious north and South pavilions, in the limited space, the pavilions are built and planted with pine, plum and bamboo, presenting a quiet and elegant atmosphere. From this into the inside, it is the main scenery of Yuquan Yuquan pool. Yuquan pool is surrounded by pavilions, pavilions and marble railings. Yuquan pool is a rectangle, about 13 meters long, 9 meters wide and 3 meters deep. The clear spring water is crystal clear from the underground. It is said that before the founding of the Southern Qi Dynasty, there was a monk tanchao who built an nunnery in Kaishan of Yuquan, but there was no water source. When he meets the god man, TAN Chao asks him to solve the problem of water shortage in the temple. The God Man caresses the temple and the spring gushes out. Therefore, Yuquan is also called fuzhang spring. Since the Song Dynasty, more than one hundred big fish weighing dozens of Jin have been kept in Yuquan pond. The ancient poem "the temple stele can't remember the year, the pool is clear, the scenery is beautiful and lingering.". Gold scales used to love the first oblique day, jade milk long culvert archaic days. Baits gather at the end of the sunset, avoiding the deep moon strings. The first chapter of sanfuzhuang's life is the portrayal of the fish music in the spring pond. It seems that the master and the slave are inverted, but it is not bad in gardening art. Yuquan fish watching has attracted tourists from all over the world for hundreds of years, and "Yuquan fish jump" is listed as one of the 18 sceneries of the West Lake. In the Song Dynasty, a couplet was inscribed on the column of the pavilion beside the pool
Fish and people are happy;
The spring is clear and the heart is clear.
Dong Qichang, a famous poet, calligrapher and painter in Ming Dynasty, wrote a couplet
The fish has the chemical mechanism;
No one is vulgar, no one is indifferent.
Legend of Yuquan
Early on, there was a deep trench at the mouth of Qianlu River, which was called "Tiankai River". In the Tiankai River, there lives a grass dragon. Grass dragon can cross the river and the sea, fly through the clouds and drive through the fog, and has great ability. But he is rude and doesn't know the world. He drills in the river and out of the sea all day, and plays with fish and shrimp.
One day, an official ship escorted two barges past the Qiantang Estuary. The official ship roared, full of air, but there was a cry on the barge. When Cao long saw this, he found out that there was an emperor in the world. There were many officials under the emperor's hands. That is why the emperor sent officials to catch the common people to do hard work in Beijing. Knowing this, Cao long was very angry. He swung his tail, and a big wave rushed over, overturned the official ship, and saved two ships of people. Cao long thought: the official ship was knocked over by me, but the emperor is still in the capital! The emperor is so bad. I should take him away and get a better one. So he drove up the dark clouds, rushed out of the Tiankai River and flew to the capital.
The emperor was drinking and having fun with his ministers and concubines in the palace. The girls were so happy that the sky suddenly changed. The strong wind made the big trees bend down, and the heavy rain fell incessantly. However, when they saw the grass dragon driving in the dark clouds, they rushed in, which scared 3000 imperial guards to flee, and the emperor was even more shocked. Fortunately, there was a brave servant who pulled his catapult and shot at the grass dragon. The catapult hit the grass dragon's right eye by chance. The pain made him roar and turn his head! The tail swept away a corner of the palace and flew away. Cao long fled back to the Tiankai river at the mouth of Qiantang River. The more he thought about it, the more angry he became. He bit his teeth and vowed to revenge. At that time, there was an old monk who could see a doctor in Qinglian temple. He was highly skilled in medicine. When Cao long heard that there was such a monk, he turned into a big black man and came to see a doctor. The old monk looked at his strange shape and was very suspicious, so he asked, "Oh, oh, how can you make this eye like this?" Cao long told a lie, saying that he was going up the mountain to chisel a stone and was not careful It was blasted by gravel. The old monk took out the things in the eyes of the grass dragon with pliers. When he saw that it was a bullet, he fell to the ground and said, "it's clearly a bullet. Why do you say gravel? Who are you? I don't know if you don't understand me!" Seeing that the old monk lost his temper, Cao long was afraid that he would not cure himself, so he told the story of how he was hit by a bullet honestly. Finally, he said, "when you have cured my eyes, I will go to revenge." The old monk was surprised at what Cao long said. He thought to himself, "my temple was built by the emperor, and I enjoy the emperor's blessing. Now he wants to hurt the emperor, which is great! Then he thought about the next plan, pretended to smile to the grass dragon and said: "it's not difficult for me to cure my eyes, but what do you want to thank me for?" "As long as you can cure my eyes, I'll give you anything you want." "I don't want any treasures. The temple is short of water. You can drill a spring for me first The grass dragon didn't know what the plan was, so he agreed. When the old monk chose a place, the grass dragon would plunge into the soil, and the clear spring water would come up from the hole where he went. The deeper the grass dragon went, the bigger the water gushed, and soon it merged into a large pool. At this time, the old monk quickly moved the exquisite stone pagoda in front of the Buddha, erected it in the middle of the spring, and pressed the grass dragon underground. The grass dragon was cheated by the old monk and was buried underground and couldn't get out any more. Because the spring water is as clear as jasper, people call it "jade spring". There are also two pools near Yuquan, one is called "Pearl Spring" and the other is called "qingkong Xiyu spring". It is said that the head of the grass dragon lies under the Pearl Spring, so as soon as there is a vibration on the ground, the grass dragon wakes up. He is comfortable underground, and many small bubbles come out on the water surface. Under the Xiyu spring in the clear sky, there is the tail of the grass dragon, so it is always foggy on a sunny day.
