Da'anshan Township
Da'anshan township is located in the deep mountain area in the northwest of Fangshan District, which belongs to the Taihang Mountain and Dashihe River Basin. It is 50 km away from Liangxiang, the seat of the district government, and 90 km away from the urban area. The total area of the township is 62.29 square kilometers, with a total population of 9281 (2017).
Basic overview
Hongda highway passes through the township, with a total length of 11 km and 8 village level highways, with a total length of 28 km. The township has opened 948 long-distance buses, once an hour. All the 8 villages were equipped with closed circuit television, and all the telephones were programmed.
administrative division
The town has a long history. As early as the Five Dynasties, Liu rengong built a palace in the north of Da'anshan village as a villa for leaving the palace. In 1944, it became a liberated area under the jurisdiction of Fangshan County. In 1952, it was transferred to Jingxi mining area. In 1958, it was merged into Zhoukoudian district. In the same year, Baihuashan people's commune was established, which was called Da'anshan people's commune. In 1961, it was transferred to industrial and agricultural area of Beijing Mining Bureau. In 1983, it was changed into township. Since 1993, it has been assigned to Fangshan District.
Da'anshan Township governs one community and eight village committees (Da'anshan coal mining community, Da'anshan village, Xiyuan village, sishang village, zhaomudi village, baodiwa village, liaomeijian village, Zhongshan village and shangshuiyu Village).

The township is a deep mountain area, with complex topography, undulating terrain, steep mountains, high in the West and low in the East. The highest elevation is 1438m, the lowest is 270m, the relative elevation difference is 1168m, the frost free period is about 180 days, the annual rainfall is about 550mm, and the annual average temperature is 11 ℃. The township has 224.2 hectares of arable land, 187 hectares of basic farmland and 4500 hectares of forest land.
Historical evolution
Fangshan District governs the township. It is located in the north of the region and the south foot of Dahanling. The township government is located in Da'anshan village. It is bounded by Mentougou District in the north, fozizhuang Township in the south, shijiaying Township in the West and Hebei town in the East. Covering an area of 62.29 square kilometers, it governs 9 villagers' committees, 13 natural villages and 9281 people (2017), including Manchu and Han.
This place has a long history of development. As early as the Five Dynasties, Liu rengong built a palace in the north of Da'anshan village as a villa (there is no existing site today). In 1944, it became a liberated area under the jurisdiction of Fangshan County. In 1952, it was put under the jurisdiction of Jingxi mining area. In 1958, it was merged into Zhoukoudian district. In the same year, when Baihuashan people's commune was established, it was called Da'an management area, and in 1961, it was called Da'an people's commune. In 1960, it was restored to Fangshan County; in 1980, it was transferred to the industrial and Agricultural District Office of Beijing Mining Bureau; in 1983, it was changed to commune as township.
The township is located in the middle mountain area of Taihang Mountain, surrounded by mountains and valleys. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The highest altitude is 1649 meters in laolongwo, and the lowest is 462 meters. The average altitude is about 700 meters. The underground is rich in coal resources, with a wide distribution area. Many sections of coal seam are exposed, with good coal quality, high heat and low ash content, and Daanshan coal is the best. In 1958, Jingxi mining area was mined here, and Daanshan coal mine was built. In 1969, a coal mine was built in the township, and there are 13 small coal mines run by the village. The annual output of township and village level coal is about 400000 tons, which is the main economic source of the township.
On the Dabei River in the rural area, there is a stone bridge built in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, which is named Chongshan bridge. It is a single hole with a monument at the end of the bridge. To commemorate the Anti Japanese hero martyr Yu Zhenbian, a memorial pavilion was built in 1974 in the north of Da'anshan village. According to research, in the Five Dynasties, Liu rengong once built a temple on Da'an mountain. He learned alchemy from the alchemist Wang Ruo, and also opened a cave on the mountain to make money. Today, there are no relics.
Built in 1975, the district level red (coal) DA (Anshan) highway is the main traffic trunk line in the territory, with a total length of 20 kilometers, and several branches are connected with it, leading to the villages. There are passenger cars and stations. Transportation has been further improved.
The shrubs and weeds in the mountain valleys of the township grow densely with few trees. The soil layer is barren and the water holding capacity is poor. Corn and millet are planted in the cultivated land of the township, but the grain yield has been low for a long time due to the high land, cold air, little water and drought. There are walnut, Chinese prickly ash, apricot and a small amount of apple.
In history, the year of wind, hail and drought occurred. In 1943, mountain torrents broke out, killing more than 60 villagers.
Economic situation
The total output value of agriculture is 8.673 million yuan, including 1.106 million yuan for agriculture, 3.027 million yuan for forestry and 4.54 million yuan for animal husbandry. At the end of the year, there were 232.3 hectares of cultivated land, 151.5 hectares of grain sown area and 114.2 tons of total grain output value. The output of dry and fresh fruits is 38.5 tons, 859 pigs, 1582 sheep, 30.8 tons of fresh eggs, 91.4 tons of meat and 98.8 tons of vegetables.
The per capita net income of farmers was 4519.6, an increase of 3.7% over 2007. The total industrial output value is 1.96 million yuan, and the total profit is 660000 yuan. Township tax revenue was 2.74 million yuan, 53% less than 2007.
