Beijing Workers' Stadium is one of the famous "top ten buildings" in Beijing on the 10th anniversary of the founding of new China.
Evolution of construction
On September 5, 1958, the Beijing work sports project was officially determined as a gift project for the working class in the capital to the 10th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China. Then, the builders completed the construction of the project in 11 months and 13 days. On September 13, 1959, a huge elliptical building rose from a large reed pit in the eastern suburb of Beijing at that time, becoming one of the "top ten buildings in Beijing" at that time, and the Beijing Workers' Stadium which could accommodate 70000 spectators.
In 1986, in order to undertake the 1990 Beijing Asian Games four years later, the workers' Stadium underwent a three-year large-scale reconstruction project. The reconstructed Beijing Workers' Stadium has become an international sports venue in China.
Since April 18, 2006, in order to meet the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Workers Stadium has been comprehensively transformed by the Olympic reconstruction and expansion project. After the renovation, the stadium has regained its youth and vitality, and has become an Olympic football match field that can accommodate 62000 spectators. The facilities in the stadium fully meet the technical requirements of the Olympic football match. A large stadium with 24 stands and a capacity of 71112 spectators. The stadium has opened up a high standard rest room which can accommodate four teams, with dressing room, shower room, toilet and other equipment. Each of the four lounges has an area of 100 square meters; two referee lounges, doping testing centers, medical rooms and workshops for special staff of international sports organizations. The new news center is equipped with simultaneous interpretation equipment. On the second floor, on the right side of the grandstand adjacent to the rostrum, there are 400 seats for text reporters, each of which is equipped with a power supply and telephone jack.
Architectural pattern
Beijing Workers' Stadium covers an area of 350000 square meters and a construction area of 80000 square meters. The stadium is an oval concrete frame mixed structure, 282m long from north to South and 208 m wide from east to west, with 24 stands.
Architectural features
At the north gate of the main entrance, a group of sculptures of athletes stand face to face. There are national flag areas on both sides of the square, and 40 12 meter high flagpoles form a circle. The exterior wall of the milky white stadium is decorated with modern new sculpture spraying technology, with large pieces of tawny glass and aluminum alloy doors and windows, which is solemn and elegant. In the middle of the stadium is a football field covered with green grass. Eight 400 meter long red plastic runways encircle each other. There are red, green, blue, yellow and brown glass fiber reinforced plastic seats on the four sides of the stands. The colors are bright and eye-catching. The top of the stands is covered with a large canopy, in which the East and West canopy beams are suspended and extended to 18 meters. 352 high-pressure cast aluminum metal halide lamps are installed on them. All the lights are turned on at night, and the stadium is as bright as day. The sound equipment in the venue is evenly hung under the canopy, with clear, soft and pleasant sound. The podium is decorated with Pingshan red marble, and there are 50 observation rooms on both sides. The rooms are equipped with modern communication equipment, from which reporters can transmit competition information to all over the world. On the grandstand at the south end of the stadium, there is the largest electronic display device in Asia, with a length of 44 meters and a height of 11 meters. The display area of the large color screen is 98 square meters, which can display the scene of competition on the playground from different angles. It was the largest comprehensive stadium in China at that time.
Shadowless lighting
The football match of Beijing Olympic Games will be held in five football cities from August 6 to 23, 2008, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang and Qinhuangdao. Both men's and women's football finals are held in Beijing. Among them, the venues in Beijing are the National Olympic Center Stadium, the National Stadium and the Beijing Workers' Stadium (the National Stadium is the main stadium of the Olympic Games, which is used for the men's football finals; the Olympic Center Stadium has been transformed into a professional football field; the Beijing Workers' Stadium is a reconstruction project, which is designed to be used as a special venue for the 2008 Olympic football games )。 The venue in Shanghai is Shanghai Stadium, the venue in Tianjin is Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium, the venue in Shenyang is Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium, and the venue in Qinhuangdao is Qinhuangdao Olympic Center Stadium.
As the football field of the Olympic Games, grass and night lighting are very important. Of course, Beijing Workers' Stadium is no exception. Before, as the main stadium of national security, the lawn was world-class, but the lighting did not meet the needs of high-definition signal broadcast of the Olympic Games.
According to Huang Shengxin, chief designer of the reconstruction project of the worker's Stadium of Beijing Institute of architectural design and research, the former worker's Stadium shed was relatively low, the angle of the lights was relatively flat, and the distribution of illumination was unreasonable. In order to achieve the shadowless lighting without glare and perfect TV broadcasting effect, we have added a lighting frame. Through wind tunnel test and careful design, we have met the lighting requirements of FIFA Olympic Games. " "In addition, according to the requirements, the angle between the lighting equipment and the horizontal plane should not be less than 15 degrees. For this reason, we have also raised the lamp frame from 24 meters to nearly 43 meters." Huang Shengxin said: "after the transformation, the horizontal lighting of the body will reach 2000 lux, the vertical lighting will reach 1800 lux, and 310 light bulbs will fully meet the needs of HD transmission."
In addition, the lamp holder also reserved the position of lighting equipment for the concert after the game, and the hierarchical lighting system is also specially equipped with lighting for athletes to warm up. From the aspect of appearance, the whole appearance of the workers' Stadium has been changed due to the increase of the light frame, and the characteristics of the sports building are more prominent.
Structural reinforcement
Beijing Workers' Stadium has gone through half a century of wind and rain, and its oval concrete frame hybrid structure can not meet the needs of the Olympic Games. "The weight of each column of the construction body is overloaded to varying degrees, and strengthening the structure is the top priority of this transformation." Li Jianguo said.
The first part of the Olympic reconstruction project is the structural reinforcement project. "One of our main tasks is to strengthen the existing structure of the workers' Stadium. This project can be regarded as one of the most complex and largest structural reinforcement projects in China. The main building has been used for nearly 50 years, with large-scale reinforcement, wide range, many reinforcement means, complex technology and great construction difficulty. The application of carbon fiber reinforcement technology, energy dissipation technology, steel bonding technology, section enlarging technology, external prestressing technology, etc. basically covers the existing technology of domestic structural reinforcement, and fully embodies the concept of scientific and technological Olympics.
The existing structure of workers' Stadium is reinforced according to the standard of seismic fortification degree 7 of "code for seismic design of buildings" (GBJ11-89) and "standard for seismic appraisal of buildings" (GB 50023-95). This project can be called one of the most complex structural reinforcement projects in China: large scale, wide range, many reinforcement means, complex technology and difficult construction. Using carbon fiber reinforcement technology, energy dissipation technology, steel bonding technology, increasing section technology, external prestressing technology and so on, fully embodies the concept of science and technology Olympic Games.
Energy saving and consumption reduction
For the first time, when you see the reconstructed body of the Olympic project, you may find that it is the same as the original body. However, if you look around carefully, you will find that the windows are different from the original one: the original windows have become energy-saving double-layer hollow thermal insulation windows.
According to reports, the original windows can no longer meet the requirements of modern energy saving and environmental protection, the reconstruction will be replaced by green aluminum alloy double glass windows. This kind of hollow glass can keep heat and save energy.
After decades of Feng Shui and sun exposure, some parts of the large and small canopy of the spectator stand are leaking. This time, the construction unit also carried out waterproof transformation on the canopy. The stands were also waterproofed, and the gaps and guardrails were reconstructed. At the same time, some seats were replaced.
In addition, the renovation project of interior decoration and most of the toilet equipment update. Water saving sanitary ware, induction faucet and energy-saving lamps are adopted to reduce building energy consumption and embody the concept of Green Olympics.
