Zhai palace is located in the west gate of the temple of heaven, covering an area of about 40000 square meters, with double walls. There are 167 corridors around the inner wall. It is a shelter for the guards. The main hall is a five room beamless hall. It is one of the famous buildings in the capital. The top is covered with blue glazed tiles, which means that they dare not respect before the sky. On the terrace in front of the hall are the stele Pavilion of the hour and the bronze Pavilion of fasting. The bronze man is 1.5 feet high. He is dressed in an ancient official uniform and holds a bronze medal engraved with the word "fasting". It is said that it is made in imitation of Wei Zheng, the Prime Minister of the Tang Dynasty (Wei Zheng is famous for daring to admonish). After the main hall, there are five bedrooms, where the emperor fasted before offering sacrifices.
