Huangji gate
There is a small square in front of it, which is long and narrow from east to west. On the west side is Xiqing gate, not far from the west is Jingyun gate, on the east side is Lianxi gate, on the east side is thirteen rows from south to north, and on the south side is the glazed screen wall and nine dragon wall in front of Huangji gate.
The north of Huangji gate is opposite to ningshou gate. Passing through ningshou gate is Huangji hall, and behind Huangji hall is ningshou palace. This unique staggered layout of gates and halls was formed during the reconstruction of ningshou palace in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. Ningshou palace was built in 1689, the 28th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi. In 1771, Qianlong rebuilt the front hall into Huangji hall. The original plaque was moved to the back hall, so the back hall was renamed "ningshou Palace", and Huangji gate was added at the southernmost end of ningshou palace.
To the south of Huangji gate, there are three glazed gates with walls, which are located on the base of white jade. The three door openings are all made of coupons, covered with gatehouse, yellow glazed tile single eaves veranda roof, five step single warped single arch, Fang, rafters, arch and other components are all made of colored glass. The central gate tower is slightly higher, which is called the main building, and the two sides are slightly lower, which is called the secondary building. The gap between the main building and the secondary building is made of slightly smaller glass imitated wood members, which is slightly lower than that of the secondary building. It is called Jialou. The yellow glazed tiles are suspended on the top of the mountain, and three steps of single arch are used. The outer side of the two buildings is also inlaid with two small gatehouses, which are called the side building. The inside of the glazed tile roof is the hanging mountain type, and the outside is the veranda type. The main building, the sandwich building, the secondary building and the side building are scattered and magnificent. On both sides of each gate tower, there are yellow glazed lotus columns, and the curly grass pattern of bucket arch and sparrow are picked out from the inside. Therefore, Huangji gate is also known as "three rooms and seven floors vertical flower gate type archway gate".
