Yuanyang Lake Scenic Spot
Yuanyang Lake scenic spot is located in Fuchun Town, west of Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province, on the west side of Jingde baishaguan highway, 43 kilometers away from Ziyang town. As the largest wintering habitat of wild mandarin ducks in Asia, it is a national AAAA tourist attraction and belongs to Jiangxi nature reserve.
Yuanyang Lake, formerly known as "datangwu reservoir", is a medium-sized reservoir which was broken in 1958 and completed in 1960. In the early 1980s, due to the good ecological environment around the reservoir, many mandarin ducks came here to overwinter. Therefore, it was gradually renamed "Mandarin Duck Lake" after 1986 and designated as "provincial nature reserve" in 1997.
Development history

In the early 1980s, due to the good ecological environment around the reservoir, many mandarin ducks came here to overwinter, so it was gradually renamed "Mandarin Duck Lake" after 1986 and designated as "provincial nature reserve" in 1997. This natural landscape has not only attracted domestic scientific research institutions and bird experts to come here for investigation, but also attracted overseas tourists, calling Yuanyang Lake a "quiet green world" and a "super clean land". According to preliminary statistics, there are 89 species of animals in the lake area, including 17 species of mammals, 22 species of reptiles and 50 species of birds. There are 14 species of water birds and 36 species of mountain birds, most of which are mandarin ducks, up to more than 2000 pairs, accounting for 2 / 3 of the known wild mandarin ducks in the world. It is the largest wintering habitat for wild mandarin ducks in Asia and the world.
Since 1986, more than 2000 pairs of mandarin ducks have been gathering here every year for wintering. They love each other and enjoy themselves. They are the largest habitat of wild mandarin ducks in China and are praised as "ecological wonders" by the media at home and abroad.
Biological resources
The natural vegetation in Yuanyang Lake area is mainly evergreen broad-leaved forest and Masson pine. There are 185 species of woody plants in 24 families, covering more than 95%. The good natural environment has attracted a large number of animals to live and breed here. According to preliminary statistics, there are 89 species of animals in the lake area, including 17 species of mammals, 22 species of reptiles and 50 species of birds. There are 14 species of water birds and 36 species of mountain birds, most of which are mandarin ducks, up to more than 2000 pairs, accounting for 2 / 3 of the known wild mandarin ducks in the world. It is the largest wintering habitat of wild mandarin ducks in Asia and even in the world (6 species of national second class protected animals are found now).
Main attractions
Yuelao Temple: according to the local people, the wish made here is very effective. Legend has it that this was once an ancient temple. I don't know when a couple lived in seclusion here and grew old together. After they died, they were all buried in front of the temple. Soon, these two inseparable pine trees grew in front of their graves. Later, more and more lovers came from the name of the curtain. People built this "Yuelao Temple" on the base of the ancient temple, so that the lovers who came here could make a sincere wish for life and death.
Island in the center of Lake: there is an island in the center of clear water. There are pavilions in the center of lake, corridor bridges, Yuanguan Pavilion, peach, plum and orange orchards on the island. Since 1986, more than 2000 pairs of mandarin ducks have gathered here every year for the winter. During the day, more than 1000 pairs of mandarin ducks live in KUWAN in groups. Red billed and green plumage, such as blooming flowers, are inseparable from each other. In the evening, a pair of mandarin ducks nestle in the woods by the lake, feeling affectionate and carefree. From time to time, there is a whisper of "Goo Goo Goo.".
Mandarin duck: a medium-sized duck with distinguishing characteristics in the field. The size is between the mallard and the winged duck. The elder is 38-45 cm and weighs about half a kilogram. It's androgynous. The male has a red beak, orange yellow feet, bright and gorgeous plumage, a gorgeous crown feather on the head, a wide white eyebrow pattern behind the eyes, and a pair of chestnut yellow fan-shaped upright plumage on the wings, standing on the back like a sail. It is very strange and eye-catching, and is easy to identify in the wild. The female has a black beak, orange feet, grayish brown head and upper body, white eyes, and a thin and white eyebrow pattern. It is also very eye-catching and unique, and can be easily recognized in the wild. There are no similar species in China, so we can't make a mistake.
