Jingyu Park was built in 1917, with an original area of 52000 square meters. It was one of the earliest parks built in our city. Its original name was "dongsijiazi Park". It was changed to "Binjiang Park" in 1919 and renamed as "Daowai Park" after the founding of the people's Republic of China.
In 1985, the park was named "Jingyu Park" in memory of the Anti Japanese national hero General Yang Jingyu. In 2000, the city leaders carried out a comprehensive transformation of Jingyu Park, transforming the closed Park into an open park. In 2003, in order to promote the construction of "garden city" and improve the quality of urban construction, Daowai District Party committee and government upgraded Jingyu Park and built the largest Memorial square in the city, covering an area of more than 5000 square meters, with a total area of 5 hectares.
On July 19, 2004, the bronze sculpture of martyr Yang Jingyu, the landmark sculpture of Jingyu Park in Daowai District, was completed. After upgrading, Jingyu park has become an open memorial park integrating ideology, art and leisure, and an important patriotic ideological education base and ideological and moral education base for minors in our city.

Jingyu park is located in the 20th Street of Jingyu in Daowai District, facing Jingyu Street in the West. It covers an area of 52528 square meters. It was built in 1917 and is one of the earliest parks in Harbin. Jingyu Park was originally called "dongsijiazi Park". According to historical records, dongsijiazi Park covers an area of 13 square meters, 85 feet long from north to South and 5 feet wide from east to west. The main gate opens to the West and a convenient gate is set in the north. There are two pavilions in the park, and the buildings in the park are Oriental style. For a long time from the establishment of the park to the founding of the people's Republic of China, the park has been used as an official gathering place for local governments. In 1919, it should be named "Binjiang Park", and after the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed "Daowai Park". From 1952 to 1957, Daowai District construction division took over Daowai Park, built offices and greenhouses, added asphalt roads in the park, and opened up a winter ski resort.
In 1985, Daowai Park was renamed "Jingyu Park" in memory of the Anti Japanese national hero General Yang Jingyu with the approval of relevant departments. In the same year, new flower beds were built in the park, and the main entrance and ticket booth of the park were rebuilt. In 1988, a new group of large-scale jet grouting was built one after another. Two groups of large-scale children's play facilities will be built in the children's Park. In 1991, the east wall of the original frame structure of Jingyu Park was transformed into a 720 square meter garage. At the same time, the park also focused on the construction of "garden in garden". In 1997, under the direct leadership of the municipal government, the statue of Yang Jingyu was finally completed, and the park became the patriotic education base of our city. In 2000, Jingyu Park received the attention of the relevant departments of the high government. The closed Park was transformed into an open park. A new memorial square in Harbin was built. A large number of trees and lawns were planted around the park. Courtyard lights and garden facilities were added to create a good leisure place for the people in Daowai District.
Brief introduction to Yang Jingyu
Yang Jingyu, formerly known as Ma Shangde, was born in February 1905 in a peasant family in Liwan village, Queshan County, Henan Province. After the September 18th Incident, he worked in Harbin. He once served as secretary of the Daowai District Party committee, Secretary of the municipal Party committee, member of the provincial Party committee, and Acting Secretary of the Military Commission. Yang Jingyu went to work in Panshi of Nanman in November 1932. He was one of the main founders and leaders of the Northeast Anti Japanese coalition, and served as commander and political commissar of the first army and commander in chief of the first route army of the Northeast Anti Japanese coalition.
Yang Jing led his troops to fight against Japanese and puppet troops in the East and south of Manchuria for a long time, which shocked the northeast and effectively cooperated with the national anti Japanese war. On February 23, 1940, Yang Jingyu led his troops to fight in Mengjiang area of Jilin Province. He spent five days and nights with the enemy alone until he ran out of ammunition and food. He died in sandaowaizi of Shejiang river at the age of 35.
