Jiangkou ancient town
Jiangkou ancient town is one of the 30 famous historical and cultural towns in Sichuan Province. It is located in the northeast of Pengshan County. It is named Jiangkou because it is located at the intersection of Fuhe River (Jinjiang River) and Nanhe River (Wuyang River)
Brief introduction of ancient town
. She was named "Peng Wuju" in Qin and Han Dynasties, "Heshui" in Jin Dynasty, "anzhen township" in Song Dynasty and "Jiangkou" in Ming Dynasty. It is an ancient market town with a long history of more than 2000 years.
Jiangkou is an important place for military strategists since ancient times because of its dangerous terrain. It is the place where Kaiming family, king of Shu, was defeated when Qin Dynasty destroyed Shu. It is also the place where Cen pengfa Gongsun Shu was assassinated. It is also the ancient battlefield where Zhang Xianzhong fought fiercely with Yang Zhan, commander-in-chief of Nanming Dynasty in the end of Ming Dynasty. Before liberation, Jiangkou was one of the main water transport terminals of Minjiang River. There were "hundreds of boats in the day and ten thousand lights at night" in the past. In the evening, the residents, shops, oil lamps from hundreds of boats, and rattan torches used by pedestrians to light the road make the whole estuary look very spectacular. Hongshiti Wharf in front of Longwang temple is the last water transportation wharf from Minjiang River to Chengdu. It is 20 meters high and 4.5 meters wide. Among the 38 ladders, there is a platform with a width of 3 square meters, which is magnificent and has a lingering charm.
Starting from the east bank bridgehead of Pengshan Minjiang Bridge, it can be regarded as entering the Xiajiang estuary. This is a "shoulder pole farm" facing the river in front and leaning against the mountain in the back. It goes north to shangjiangkou, with a total length of about five li, presenting a unique landscape of "five Li Long Street winding the river bank".
Once upon a time, the street was run through by a red stone road more than two meters wide. Along the way, there were "Seven Bridges and seven temples". On both sides of the street, most of the shops and houses were small green tile houses with two-story wooden structure, and on the riverside, most of them were Chinese style stilts. Today, this red slate road has long been buried by four or five meter wide concrete road. Modern buildings with various porcelain faces are constantly inserted in the wooden house Street shops, while most of the old wooden houses have been empty. The rusty iron locks are tightly closed the shop doors, allowing the incessant traffic noise and dust on the street. However, in the area of Han cliff Tomb Museum, qiaolouzi and hengjiezi, some of the ancient and simple flavor of riverside wharf town in southern Sichuan is still preserved. There are more than 5000 cliff tombs of Eastern Han Dynasty along the mountain in the street, the red wall deep palace of Zitong palace guarding the tombs, and the southern Sichuan style wooden board shops and warehouses along qiaolouzi and hengjiezi, which firmly preserve the ancient and mysterious Jiangkou.
The river in front of Jiezhen is not an ordinary river. It is the second birthplace of xiamin river. It turned out that the Minjiang River, which originated at the southern foot of Minshan Mountain in Songpan, entered the Chengdu Plain from north to south, and naturally divided into two rivers, Fu and Nan. These two rivers just merged at Jiangkou Town to form the Lower Minjiang River, which went straight to Leshan and Yibin and joined the Yangtze River. At the confluence of the two rivers, a town looks at the three rivers, hence the name "Jiangkou", becoming the first town of Minjiang River.
The "one mountain and two lakes" behind the street town is not an ordinary landscape. Shangjiangkou is just at the foot of Pengzu mountain, which is famous both at home and abroad. Peng Zu, the long-lived ancestor of longevity, has created a miracle of health preservation, which is admired by the world. The fairy and general of wobohou mountain have also revealed their mystery to the world.
