Shibaoshan

Shibaoshan is a Danxia landform with unique peaks and rocks formed by spherical weathered stones. There are shizhongshan grottoes, Taoist Baoxiang temple, Jinding temple, haiyunju temple, Shizhong reservoir and other scenic spots. Every year, from July 27 to 29 of the lunar calendar, a song festival is held in Shibaoshan, which is the most lively at that time.

Shibaoshan is located 25 kilometers southwest of Jianchuan County in Yunnan Province. It is named Shibaoshan because the red sandstone on the mountain has a turtle like crack, like a lion or a bell. It is one of the first batch of 44 key scenic spots announced by the State Council and an important part of Dali scenic spot.

Shibaoshan Song Festival is a grand traditional festival in Bai nationality area. It lasts from July 26 to the first day of August. It is the most charming cultural landscape in Jianchuan of Dali.

During the Song Festival, Bai people from Jianchuan, Eryuan, Lijiang, Dali, Lanping and other places put on their national costumes and came in droves. The middle-aged people express their feelings and show their talents by singing songs. The young men and women mostly use songs as a medium to find intimate partners . The tunes are popular in the northwest of Dali Prefecture of Jianchuan Bai nationality, accompanied by Longtou Sanxian or blowing leaves. The lyrics are in the traditional format of Bai nationality's poem "3715". The meter is strict and can't run out of tune and rhyme. Therefore, the duet not only shows the singing voice, but also tries its own wisdom and talent. On the basis of mastering the traditional folk songs, the excellent singers are often eloquent and touching in the face of the scene and improvisation. In the evening, the mountain is full of picnics and smoke. People use spring water to cook Xiangluo pot rice and cook delicious hometown dishes. Strangers, as long as they sing, are invited to have dinner together. It is full of mountain and wild sentiment everywhere.

As the night falls, torches and flashlights flicker in all directions, like meteors in the forest. In the nunnery temple, among the flowers and trees, under the huge rocks and beside the mountain spring, young men and women play the clacking leading strings, sing the melody of sweet flowers and willows, exchange their passionate feelings with songs, and praise their sweet life with tunes All night long. At the big bonfire party in the evening, there are also singing and dancing activities.

Shibaoshan song club is a sea of love songs. Many simple and sincere Shibaoshan traditional love songs are the artistic crystallization of Bai People's oral creation. After several generations of singing, many excellent works still spread in people's oral.

There are many magical ancient legends about the origin of the Song Festival: the huge stone beside the Shizhong temple was originally a golden bell. In the distance, the dragon's mouth spewed flames and burned the golden bell into a stone bell, so the disaster was close to the Bai village. Ten sisters, ten sisters and ten "Fu Jia" (old friends) from Shaxi Bazi, a couple of Shi Bo and a GUI, gather in Shibaoshan to sing songs day and night. The song finally made the dragon's magic out of order, but unfortunately they died in Shibaoshan. To commemorate them and prevent the evil dragon from doing evil again, people go to the mountains to sing to each other every year.

The Song Festival is not only a grand gathering for Bai people to express their feelings and praise life, but also a bridge for poetry art exchange and inheritance of folk literature and art. The vast amount of Bai poetry is passed down from generation to generation through such occasions and becomes the crystallization of Bai People's art. Shibaoshan Baiqu has been listed in the international folk song catalogue, and Shibaoshan folk song association is also known as "Bai folk song city".

Baoxiang temple, the Taoist temple in the grottoes, is located on the Buddha top mountain. It is built on a high and precipitous cliff. The lower level is the main hall, and the second hall is the temple. It is known as "the suspended Temple of Yunnan Province"

Shizhong mountain is named after a large stone shaped like a big bell on the hillside. Shizhong mountain is located in Shizhong temple, Shiziguan and Shadeng village. It is an art treasure created by the Bai people in Nanzhao period. It is also the largest and well preserved Grottoes in Yunnan. It is the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in China. There are 139 relief statues in 16 grottoes. It is the carving art of Nanzhao and Dali periods, and has a history of more than 1000 years. It has high historical and artistic value.

Among the numerous stone carvings, there are statues of Bodhisattvas, emperors, foreign dignitaries, etc., as well as the stone carving of female genitalia "a Bai". Grotto statues are exquisitely carved with strong local color and national style. They are the epitome of Bai People's art. They are the art treasures of Nanzhao and Dali Period (Park 738-1253). They are valuable material for studying the social history, culture and art of Nanzhao and Dali. They are also the history of Bai people's cultural exchanges with other nationalities in China and with Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia Witness. It is a valuable material for studying the politics, economy, military, culture, religion and folk custom of Nanzhao Dali kingdom. Jianchuan Grottoes can be compared with Dunhuang, known as "Dun locust in the north, Jianchuan in the South".
