Lu Jiren

He Tianjian, a famous master of traditional Chinese painting in the United States, was a master of traditional Chinese painting when he was young. Lu Jiren graduated from Shanghai Academy of fine arts. In 1981, he went to the United States and entered the New York art student union to receive training in western modern painting. After studying and exploring, he gradually had his own views on the trend of contemporary art and began his own way of painting creation. He firmly chose to continue to work hard on the land of Chinese painting, determined to use brush, Xuan paper painting, on the basis of traditional meticulous heavy color, absorb the shape and color of Western painting, and create a new artistic road with unique originality and style. He used the Chinese aesthetic vision and unique artistic means to draw the streetscape of New York and the scenery of Venice. His works have conquered the peers and the audience, and gained a foothold in the American painting world. His fine brushwork and heavy color paintings are fully recognized by the westerners. However, what he yearns for most is still to nurture his motherland. He is familiar with the mountains and rivers, Chinese architecture and folk customs with profound cultural precipitation, and cities and villages undergoing great changes. His works depicting the scenery of China's urban and rural areas are more praised by people, and his works depicting the customs of the motherland's water villages are more loved by the world. Time and again, his works have been recognized on the international stage.

In recent years, Lu Jiren has held a special auction in Shanghai, and the proceeds from the auction have been donated to the Shanghai Charity Foundation. He was invited to hold "Lu Jiren's Paintings Exhibition" in the Bund New Museum of Shanghai archives, the 28th World Heritage conference of the United Nations held in Suzhou and the China Art Museum in Beijing. In addition, from 1983 to 2007, Lu Jiren held 68 solo exhibitions and joint exhibitions in the United States, China, Japan, Canada, the Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and won 9 awards. More than 30 works have been auctioned in Christie's, Sotheby's and other famous auction companies.

Although Lu Jiren settled in the United States, he is a Chinese artist with traditional education and modern thinking. Because he has a Chinese heart, he always looks at the world with a pair of Chinese eyes. He uses Chinese aesthetic vision and unique artistic means to draw new York's streetscape and Venice's scenery. His works have won nine awards in foreign painting circles, among which the most representative award-winning work is "early spring of Phoenix", which was painted in Xiangxi of Hunan Province in 1996 and won the award in the United States. Lu became the only Chinese who won the gold medal of traditional Chinese painting in the United States. He has held 66 solo exhibitions at home and abroad, and has won the praise of his peers and audiences. Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City and one of the current presidential candidates of the United States, shook hands and took a picture after seeing his painting exhibition.

Love in water town

Lu Ji Ren's principle of painting is not to be emotional and never to write. He paints the scenery of foreign countries with emotion. When he came to Fengjing with sincere feelings, he painted the harmony bridge and painted the bridge bay, and integrated the strong feelings of the Jiangnan bridge into the painting. Lu Ji Ren once said: "in my mind, there will always be a water scene of my hometown, just like my homesickness, vaguely following me across the sea." In his works, water is tender, full of memories, meditation and association. From the ancient Zhihe bridge with a long history to the quiet streets, from the innocent children to the charming and shy girls in red, the feelings of overseas travelers are rippling in the layers of ripples.
