Layout structure
The gate of Lingshan temple is a single eaves hilltop type, which looks like a city tower, with a height of about 4 meters and a square of about 100 square meters. There are three pavilions on it. It was built in 1671, the 10th year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty. It was originally used to worship Garan Bodhisattva and rebuilt in 1980. There is a cave gate at the bottom, which is the north gate of the temple. On the forehead, there are three characters of Lingshan Temple inscribed by Zhao Puchu, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and President of the Chinese Buddhist Association. Entering from the mountain gate, one enters the palace of the king of heaven on the top of the hard mountain in the Ming Dynasty. In the palace, the statue of the king of heaven, which is made of gold and plastic, stands erect. In the middle is a Maitreya Buddha, 1.7 meters high.
The second entrance of Lingshan temple is the zhongfo Hall (also known as Dabei Pavilion) on the top of the cliff. In the hall, there are three statues of Myanmar jade Buddha and Bodhisattva transported from abroad in 1991. They are 1.6 meters high, resplendent and new. In front of the hall, there is a ginkgo tree over 1000 years old. It is three girths thick and about 35 meters high, with luxuriant branches and leaves. Sanjin is the main hall with the top of the hall. There are five Buddha statues in the hall. They are dignified and kind, and the clay sculpture is exquisite.
It is for Sakyamuni Buddha, about 5 meters high. The left pharmacist, the right Mitha, Ananda and Kaya stand on both sides, each 2.2 meters high. This group of Buddha statues is a fine art of Ming Dynasty. After many vicissitudes, they are still intact. They are the earliest clay sculpture works in Henan Province. They are one of the relatively complete sculpture groups in Henan Province, and have extremely precious artistic value. Daxiong hall and zhongfo hall are the main buildings of Lingshan temple. The buildings with flying eaves on the top of Xieshan mountain and veranda on the top of veranda are the original structures of Jin Dynasty, which are valuable heritages for the study of ancient architectural art.

The stone carving process is exquisite, similar to Luoyang Longmen statue. On the west side of the hall is a place for monks to meditate. On the back wall of the hall are 28 poems and Fu of famous tourists chanting the scenery of Lingshan mountain. The real grass and official seal characters are of different charm. Four into the library, for the storage of Buddhist scriptures. There are 22 auxiliary halls on both sides of the East and the west, which are very spectacular.
The origin of the name
On the east side of the temple is the well-known Fenghuang spring. The spring water is fresh and delicious. It has been dry for a long time. Among the grass and cypress in the south of the spring, there are more than 20 Buddhist tombs in Lingshan Pagoda Forest, one of the eight pagoda groups in China. Behind the pagoda is the Lushan emerald cypress, which is one of Lingshan's great treasures: Lingshan bird cypress. It is very rare because the plane texture of this cypress is very similar to the image of a bird. Along the south of the mountain road beside the Tallinn, you can reach the top of Cuibai ruyunling mountain.
You can have a panoramic view of the scenery along the Luohe River. 50 meters to the north of Shanmen, there is a cliff more than 10 feet high and about one mile long. The ancient cypresses on the cliff are towering, and there are thousands of caves under the cliff. Its stone pattern is strange, with many pores, and contains a variety of ancient plant fossils. It is a natural "Shangshui stone". Take a piece and put it in a water pan. The water can quickly soak the whole stone by capillary phenomenon. Put rice, wheat, garlic and other seeds into the stone hole. When the temperature is appropriate, it will soon take root and germinate, and become an excellent bonsai. This is also a kind of souvenir that most tourists must take here.
