Maobitou park is located at the southwest top of Hengchun Peninsula. It looks like a crouching cat, so it is called "maobitou".
It's suitable for algae breeding in winter. On the coast, you can see all kinds of lush algae swaying with the waves. It's very beautiful to watch with the clear blue water, colorful tropical fish and ferocious coral reefs. Houbi lake nearby is the largest fishing port in Kenting National Park. Different catches can be seen all year round. At dusk, local people and tourists compete for seafood. In the evening, the setting sun reddened the whole sea, making it one of the eight sceneries of Hengchun.
Maobitou Park
Maobitou is located in the southeast Cape of Hengchun Peninsula, at the junction of Taiwan Strait and Bashi Strait, about 3.5km away from Baisha. It is a typical coral reef coastal erosion terrain. It looks like a girl's 100 fold skirt from a bird's-eye view, so it is called the skirt reef coast, and forms the southernmost ends of Taiwan with oluanbi.
Traffic information
Take the Kaohsiung bus from Hengchun to dingbaisha and beishulin, get off at shangshuiquan and walk for another 30 minutes.
Introduction to scenic spots
Maobitou Park, due to long-term wave erosion, repeated drying and wetting, long-term salt crystallization, sand drilling erosion and dissolution, has produced such peculiar landscapes as cliff collapse, potholes, reef pillars, interlayer caves, etc., which are of great topographic teaching and research value, making it a good place to see the sea view stones. The origin of the name "cat nose" is due to a protruding coral reef beside the rock bank, which looks like a squatting cat.
