Huangjia Garden

Huangjia garden is located in the north of 312 national highway, south of Nanxiang marshalling station of Shanghai railway, and in Xinghuo village, Jiangqiao Town, Jiading District, covering an area of 45356 square meters. Huang's garden was originally the private garden of Huang Baihui, born in Anhui Province. In 1921, he and his brother Huang Zhongchang started the Shanghai times. Later, in 1923, he bought farmland here, dug lakes and rivers, built a villa inside, and completed it in 1928. After more than 70 years, a natural landscape with sustainable development and virtuous cycle has been formed.

Layout idea

The layout of Huang's garden is unique. Although it is built by man, it is ingenious in design and rich in the wild interest of mountains and forests. Mountain Residence and garden residence are the themes of landscape design. It is surrounded by rivers, like the moat outside the ancient city. Entering the garden is a unique wooden suspension bridge with a width of 2 meters and a length of 3 meters. As long as the visitors ring the bell, they can put down the suspension bridge and enter the park. Walking on the suspension bridge, the charm is endless. The clear river flows under your feet. The cascading green is full of poetry, which makes you seem to enter a paradise.

Huanhanoi is a ring-shaped earth mountain formed by digging lakes and accumulating. Its height is different, forming a natural terrain. The highest is about 7 meters, and the lowest is 3 meters. The earth mountain is 10-15 meters wide. The earth mountain is surrounded by the river, and the trees are green, which is quite interesting. At the foot of the west slope is a flat ground for planting all kinds of ornamental flowers; at the foot of the east slope is a pond, which looks like a girdle with a long round corner. The famous lotus is planted in the pond and the fresh fish is raised. The pool area is small, but it shows the natural water scenery of a free and easy; the south end of the pool is connected with the ring River, and a stream breaks through the mountain, just like the source of living water; a villa is built on the north side of the pool bank, with unique image and structure, just like the American beach summer house. Small buildings are also combined with landscape, which is the best viewing place in the park. Around the pool in the south, there is a Cinnamomum camphora forest in the north. The tall and straight Cinnamomum camphora makes the small building spring all the year round. Every time you walk in the camphor forest, stepping on the thick fallen leaves, you can smell a fragrance, plus a little bit of white bird dung. Who would have thought that there is such a natural and beautiful world in the prosperous Shanghai. What's more gratifying is that when standing on the small building in the early morning of spring and summer, you can see lines of egrets flying into the sky, or you can see them hovering over the pool.

There is a winding path in the middle of the hillside connecting with the whole hill, which is combined with the landscape. If you walk or stop here, you will be attracted by the thick green and dense trees. Reflected in the eyes are layers of lush green, through the top of the head is the silk light, birds singing, insects singing. There are egrets, grey egrets, brown egrets, brown egrets, myna, kingfisher, white clip, wax, long tailed birds and so on. It really makes people feel the beauty of nature. Ecological landscape

Huangjia garden is a garden with plants as the main body. It has no magnificent works. It has established a stable plant community with appropriate plant combination.

The plant landscape here adopts natural combination, thick and heavy green wave undulating in the hills, which has rich levels and stable plant community structure. Around Huangjia garden, Sapindus mukorossi, elm, park, Sapium sebiferum, Pterocarya stenoptera and Acer triangularis are planted outside the river. The ground cover is bamboos and grasses, forming a natural bank protection forest. The inner side is divided into two layers. The first layer is mainly composed of Cinnamomum camphora, Ginkgo biloba, Camptotheca acuminata and Magnolia officinalis. The second layer is composed of Formosan maple, Zanthoxylum bungeanum, masson pine and Chinese wolfberry. All kinds of bamboos, including Formosan bamboos, Shouxing bamboos, moso bamboos and various ground cover bamboos, form a multi-level plant community. Under the hillside, many kinds of valuable trees were introduced, such as world tree, American walnut, Taiwan pine, Podocarpus amurensis and some unknown tree species. The pond is surrounded by pond fir trees, which are tall and steep one by one. The amazing thing is that their roots grow 50-60 cm above the water surface. They are shaped like bamboo shoots, even like stalagmites. They are gray brown in color. They are like tight sharp teeth, guarding the river bank. There has been no collapse for more than 70 years. To sum up, it has been more than 70 years since the establishment of Huangjia garden. The tall, majestic and spectacular trees grow normally except for human damage. Some of them grow very well, and the reasonable plant community makes Huangjia garden a mountain in the distance and a forest in the near.

Huangjia garden is a garden combined with aesthetics. There are nearly 200 kinds of trees, bamboos and flowers, but some strange and unknown varieties can be found everywhere, including ornamental, edible, medicinal, timber and other plants. In front of the villa, there are Phoebe, Eucommia ulmoides and lacquer trees, which are magnificent and add color to the villa, which can also be described as a component of space-time greening in the ecology.

Huangjia garden is the treasure of Jiangnan garden in China.
