Macquarie Bank, also known as Standard Chartered Bank, Qingdao Branch was established in 1925. After the outbreak of the Pacific War, it was taken over by the Japanese Korean bank. At the same time, the Shandong Branch of the international savings association founded by the French also rented office for a short time. In 1946, Macquarie Bank resumed business at its original site, but it did not return to the level before the war. In February 1949, it officially closed down. After liberation, the building was used as a cultural goods company of Qingdao department store station. A few years ago, the building was also used in a western restaurant, and the name of the restaurant was "maijiali". At present, internal maintenance is in progress.
