Design concept
The original Qingdao station was designed by weierler and gedelz of Germany. It is mainly composed of bell tower and waiting hall. The office building on the first floor of beilian is of brick wood steel mixed structure. The building has the style of German Renaissance architecture. The waiting hall of the station is facing the main entrance of the urban area with tall decorative gables and three large ticket doors. A beautiful bell tower rises in the south corner of the building, which is located on the axis of Guangxi Road and Lanshan Road, becoming the scenery of Lanshan road. The building has a steep roof with double slopes. The base, windows and doors of the clock tower, the gables and the decoration on the top of the tower are all made of granite. It is a semi wooden public building. The roof is a four slope roof, covered with Chinese variegated glazed tiles.
The overall shape of the new Qingdao station is U-shaped, and its three station buildings keep the European style of the original station with red tiles and yellow walls, such as the old clock tower and waiting room. The red "Qingdao" is written on each station building in Lishu style. The decoration style of the west station room is different from that of the east station room. For example, the roof of the reception hall is not the shape of a train car, but a flat roof with six round ceilings.
