Huangcaoliang is about 43 kilometers southeast of Dayu. It is 1737 meters above sea level and belongs to Xishan. It is a compound syncline formed since Yanshanian. The mountain is gentle and the top is inclined Karst Plateau. Faults and joints are well developed in the southeast, and a group of valleys parallel to the northwest are formed by water cutting, which is a debris flow prone area. The rock has strong water permeability, and the top is relatively dry. There are oak forest, birch poplar forest and their sprouting clumps in the shady slope and valley above 900 meters, and shrubs below. There are walnut, apricot and persimmon trees at the foot of the mountain. Huangcaoliang is far away from Lingshan, Baihua Mountain and Miaofeng Mountain. The main peak here is 1773 meters above sea level, one of the highest in southwest Beijing.
