Mazu Temple

It is located in Guanglu Township, Changhai County, Dalian city. Ma Laozu, also known as Ma Zhizi, is from Guanglu island. His father was forced to death by the fishing tyrant, and he and his brother and sister-in-law fled to Penglai, Shandong Province to settle down. Han Zhong, one of the eight immortals, took pity on his miserable life, guided his cultivation and finally became an immortal. After returning to Guanglu Island, Ma chizi eradicated evil and helped the poor. He toured the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea to rescue the fishermen who were in danger in the strong wind and waves. He was the patron saint of the fishermen in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. The people admire it, call it "old fellow of the horse", and build the Ma Zu temple in the thirteen years of Qing Daoguang (one explanation of Wanli years) and Wang Hai Ling on the old iron mountain in Guang Lu Island.

Every year on the 16th of June in the lunar calendar, Mazu's birthday, sacrifice is prosperous, commonly known as the temple fair. During this period, Mazu temple was repaired several times, demolished in July 1949, and the site was destroyed in the early 1970s. After the destruction of Mazu temple, people still worship Mazu. The incense of Mazu temple has never been interrupted. It is popular to rebuild Mazu temple. Guanglu township government rebuilt the original site in 1993, with a construction area of 204 square meters. It worships the statue of Matsu, the boy and girl, and the three officials of heaven, earth and water. At every Mazu temple fair, people in southern Liaoning rush to worship on the island. There are more than 10000 visitors to Mazu temple every year. Mazu temple has become a major tourist attraction in Guanglu island.
