"Huangchaobao" was called "Jiulongshan" in ancient times. According to historical records, in the late Sui and Tang Dynasties (875 AD), Huang Chao, the leader of the peasant uprising army, rose up and called himself Huang Wang's "great general". In 881 A.D., he led the army westward from Shandong, conquered Tongguan and occupied Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty. In December of that year, he ascended the throne in Hanyuan hall and established the peasant regime of Qi. In 883, because of the internal strife of the rebel army, Zhu Wen's rebellion and the counter attack of the Tang Dynasty, a vigorous peasant revolutionary struggle failed. In April of the same year, the rebel army withdrew from Chang'an. According to folk legend, after Huang Chao withdrew from Chang'an City, in order to attack Chang'an again, he stationed troops to raise horses and hid his troops in the depth of Dongli mountain, a place surrounded by mountains, densely forested, crisscross gullies, shaped like a pocket, easy to defend and difficult to attack. Huangchao training ground

On the south side of the "huangchaobao" mountain, there is a flat and fertile land of nearly 50 mu, which is shaped like a platform and is low and concave around. Every day, the soldiers who went to fight outside the city crossed the Bahe River from Ganyu River and Youfang street in Lantian, and fought from Shangdi village to Shilipu, changlepo and Hansen village outside Dongmen. The soldiers came back to rest, poured out the soil in the shoes, and piled up this platform, which became the wealth of the local people for generations.
