Zhejiang Art Vocational College

Zhejiang Art Vocational College is the only state-run full-time comprehensive art college in Zhejiang Province. In December 1999, the people's Government of Zhejiang Province approved the merger of Zhejiang Art School and Zhejiang film school to prepare for the establishment of Zhejiang Art Vocational College; after that, the Zhejiang Art Research Institute was established and transferred to Zhejiang. In January 2002, the provincial government approved the formal establishment of the Institute. With remarkable teaching achievements and distinctive teaching features, the college enjoys a high reputation among similar schools in China. It is the birthplace of Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yueju Opera Troupe, which is famous at home and abroad.

The source of running a school

Zhejiang Art School

In May 1955, the training class for literary and art cadres in Zhejiang Province was established.

In May 1956, it was renamed Zhejiang culture and art cadre school.

In April 1958, it was renamed Zhejiang culture and art school; in September of the same year, it was renamed Zhejiang opera school again; in the same year, the cultural Cadre Training Department of the school participated in the merger and establishment of Zhejiang culture and Education College (now Zhejiang Foreign Languages College).

In May 1960, it was upgraded to Zhejiang Academy of music, dance and drama.

In July 1964, it was rebuilt as Zhejiang opera school.

In June 1965, it was renamed Zhejiang literature and art school.

In December 1970, it was renamed "May 7th" Art School of Zhejiang Province.

In April 1978, it was renamed Zhejiang Art School.

 

Zhejiang film school

In November 1951, Zhejiang film projectionist training class was founded.

In 1954, it was renamed Zhejiang film projection cadre training class.

In 1978, it was renamed Zhejiang film school.

 

Merging schools

In December 1999, with the approval of Zhejiang Provincial People's government, Zhejiang Art School and Zhejiang film school merged to build Zhejiang Art Vocational College.

In 2002, in order to establish Zhejiang Art Vocational College, Zhejiang Art Institute was incorporated into Zhejiang Art Vocational College.

In January 2002, Zhejiang Art Vocational College was officially established.

In 2007, with the approval of the establishment committee of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Art Research Institute resumed its independent establishment and changed its name to Zhejiang culture and Art Research Institute.

 

In September 2012, it was selected into the first batch of Model Higher Vocational Colleges in Zhejiang Province.

In November 2015, Zhejiang public culture management college was added with the approval of Zhejiang provincial editorial board office.

 

In December 2019, it was listed as the fourth type of high-level professional group construction unit (grade C) by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance.

In 2015, Zhejiang Vocational College of Arts participated in the "cultural China · European comfort overseas Chinese" performance group sponsored by the overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and undertaken by the overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Zhejiang Province for the first time, toured Germany, Belgium and Sweden, and organized the 15th Zhejiang Youth National Art group to perform in Shizuoka, Japan. Thirteen teachers were sent to Taiwan, one to Germany and two to Australia for training or visiting.
