Whether it's spring in March with peach blossoms and willows, or winter with ice and snow, there are endless poems and paintings here. Jingjue temple was built in the Tang Dynasty. It was built in the song, Jin, Liao, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has experienced thousands of years of vicissitudes. What is displayed in front of today's people still retains its spacious, open-minded, solemn and solemn style. Some people say: "Jingjue temple is a poem, which uses dignified and implicit language to state both simple and mysterious philosophy, and tells both wonderful and illusory expectations. Jingjue temple is a book, its charm lies not only in its gorgeous and elegant binding, but also in its rich, colorful, profound connotation."
Historical style
Jingjue temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. It is a large-scale, rigorous layout, reasonable structure and unique group of ancient buildings. The main building has three halls: the gate hall, the main hall and the back hall; the third floor: the stele tower, the bell tower and the drum tower.
The architectural art of Jingjue temple has the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties, and combines the official and folk characteristics. Dragon and Phoenix totems on both sides of the main hall are rare among the people. The front porch of the hall is made of two dragon plate stone columns with high relief technique, showing originality. On the beam and column facilities, there are not only powerful powder and gold, but also Soviet style color paintings; on the head of interview and rafter, there are portraits of human heads and story chains. The whole temple has exquisite painting and murals, vivid stone sculptures and inscriptions and calligraphy.
Jingjue Temple enjoys the reputation of "the first temple in East Beijing". According to the evaluation of ancient architecture experts, the scale is considerable, the craft is superb, and the style is peculiar. Jingjue temple is a Buddhist temple, but it is different from other Buddhist temples. Its exquisite architectural structure and colorful paintings and carvings are unforgettable. It has high historical value, artistic value and scientific value. The main building has three halls: Gate hall, main hall (Xiangfu Palace), back hall (Daxiong Hall); third floor: stele tower, bell tower, Drum Tower. In addition, there are dongxipeidian, Longfeng gatehouse, dongxipeifang, Zhiran tomb stele Pavilion and so on. The most eye-catching is the gate Hall - "Wuliang hall", which can be said to be the first wonder of the ancient temple. The gate and hall, with a construction area of 120 square meters and a height of 12 meters, are made of brick and stone arches filled with clear mortar. It is not only without beams, but also without purlins and columns. The inner and outer walls of the hall are made of polished bricks. The seams are fine and even, just like white lines stretched out. Its rafters, flying, raising and arching are all carved with blue bricks. There are 96 statues of Buddha with different expressions in the mouth. The hall has no wooden products except doors and windows. It is a unique architecture. Another wonder is the main hall (Xiangfu Palace), which is 20 meters high and has a construction area of 200 square meters. The double eaves and the top of the mountain are exposed and made. This hall is a wooden structure, without a nail and a rivet, in which the "suspended beams and columns" seem to be suspended but not suspended, and they seem to be suspended but not suspended. They are built by skillfully using the principles of mechanics.
In particular, under the skylight, there are 36 wooden lattices, each with painted landscapes and clay figures, which are placed in myths, legends or historical stories such as journey to the West. Baoxia is supported by eight stone pillars. There are no 12 brackets protruding from the front eaves. The end of the brackets is carved into the shape of 12 zodiac animals. The sparrow is inlaid with the eight treasures of Buddhism: wheel, Luo, umbrella, cover, flower, pot, fish and long. The scale of the back hall is roughly the same as that of the main hall, and its architectural structure is novel. The top of the hall is Xieshan, and the bottom is hard. It has obvious architectural style of Ming Dynasty. It is also rare in ancient buildings. When you enter the hall, you can see that the beams and columns are hanging and falling, or hanging or sinking, and the arrangement is appropriate. There is a corridor in front of the hall, on which four thick stone pillars are erected, and in the middle of which two vivid dragons are carved, which is another wonder of Jingjue temple. The "third floor" of Jingjue temple is also graceful and graceful, with its own characteristics, especially the stele tower standing behind the gate. It is elegant in shape, superb in workmanship, and full of artistic charm. The stele tower is a typical pole column building, with green glazed tile top and vivid Buddha statues carved at the end of 6-story Dougong. The stele tower is divided into upper and lower floors. The upper floor is the pavilion, which used to be the Sutra Pavilion; the lower floor has four large steles and two small steles. These steles not only provide valuable information for the study of the history of Jingjue temple, but also have precious artistic value, which often make tourists forget to return and praise it . Especially special is the famous calligrapher Wang Jingde of the Qing Dynasty's "epitaph of Xuxiu Jingjue Temple", which stands out here. His big grass style is full of dragon and Phoenix, and elegant, which has won the applause of today's people.
There are 14 "Zhi" characters in the inscriptions, each of which is written in different ways. However, each of them has its own charm, which is a good art of calligraphy. The bell and drum towers are located at the south end of the East and west side halls, with bells in the East and drums in the West. The two floors are cross ridges, surrounded by Xieshan, which is inlaid with brick carvings of four dragons playing with pearls. It has the architectural characteristics of Tibetan Buddhism. The iron bell originally hung in the bell tower was cast in 1828, but now the bronze bell is hung in early 2009. The bell sounds more loud and melodious. The drum on the drum tower was made in 1993. At the junction of the auxiliary hall and the main hall, there are two small gatehouses in the East and the west, the dragon in the East and the Phoenix in the West. The dragon is about to soar, and the Phoenix seems to fly away. What's more wonderful is that the two gatehouses can see the wood but not the stone from the north and the stone but not the wood from the south. It's amazing. Jingjue temple not only attracts thousands of tourists with its grand scale and novel structure, but also dazzles people with its various carvings. From the material point of view, there are stone carving, wood carving and brick carving; from the sample point of view, there are relief carving, openwork carving and whole carving. From the content point of view, there are not only the flying dragon and Phoenix with palace color, but also the folk sentiment of "Attracting Wealth and treasure"; there are solemn and dignified Buddhist idols, but also the witty "monkey poking horse honeycomb". The exterior of the purlin column, the four walls of the palace, the skirts of the doors and windows, and the ends of the brackets are all exquisitely carved and painted.
At the beginning of the new century, the leaders of the state, provinces and cities have given great care to Jingjue temple, and allocated special funds for its reconstruction. Southeast Asia Wood Industry Corporation, other enterprises and institutions concerned with public welfare, and the broad masses of the people have also extended a warm hand to donate money and materials for the reconstruction of Jingjue temple. Yutian county Party committee of CPC, Yutian County People's government and relevant departments hired experts from Hebei Provincial Administration of cultural relics as the technical director of the project to rebuild Jingjue temple. After more than one year's intensive construction, not only the problems of part of the components of the main building are solved, such as defect, decay, and water leakage at the top, but also the oil decoration painting is new. At the same time, antique archways and screen walls were built at the gate to add luster to Jingjue temple. A square of 5000 square meters is built between the archway and the screen wall, and gardens and pavilions are built in the backyard. Some trails are hardened, and the area of green space is increased, which greatly facilitates tourists from south to north. The Buddha statues in the hall are basically complete, and various service facilities tend to be perfect.
In order to speed up the tourism development of Jingjue temple and improve the people's amateur cultural living standard, the Spring Festival Temple Fair held from the 15th to the 20th of the first lunar month every year is full of pilgrims, colorful folk cultural activities and folk culture. Further development of tourism products. Today, this millennium old temple, with its ancient solemnity and magic, attracts tourists from all over the world. Like a bright pearl, it presents itself in front of the world with a new look and becomes a new tourist attraction in Jingdong.
