The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) is a statutory body established by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It officially started operation on May 7, 2001, replacing the former Hong Kong Industrial Estate Corporation, Hong Kong Industrial Technology Centre Corporation and temporary Hong Kong Science Park Limited.

The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation is a statutory body established in 2001. It is responsible for the planning and management of science parks, innovation centers and industrial estates. It is committed to creating a dynamic innovation and technology ecosystem, cultivating scientific and technological talents, promoting exchanges and cooperation, driving innovation and development, and creating social and economic benefits for Hong Kong and the whole region.

Enterprise introduction

Its main task is to provide one-stop collaborative support services for technology-based companies and activities. At present, the company manages its own Hong Kong Science Park, the Hong Kong Science and technology center and three industrial parks (formerly known as industrial estates) previously managed by other companies.

In 2017, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park reached cooperation with a number of mainland technology companies to jointly develop artificial intelligence, and held conferences in Hangzhou, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shenzhen and Tianjin. Shenzhen and Tianjin have set up offices, and are also deploying computer rooms in mainland China to jointly develop the field of artificial intelligence technology, Fanghe.

Corporate functions

The Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Company is the key to Hong Kong's innovation and technology system. It is an important support for the Hong Kong SAR government to promote innovation and development. It is also an important base to promote cooperation among government, industry, University and research, and to transform research achievements into products. The government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will continue to give strong support to the development of the Science Park Company, including the expansion of the Science Park, the increase of about 70000 square meters of floor area, and the construction of two high-efficiency multi-storey buildings in Tseung Kwan O industrial estate to introduce high-end production.
