Ertan National Forest Park is located in Yanbian county and Miyi County, northern suburb of Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, with a total area of 732.4 square kilometers (1098600 mu), including 101 square kilometers of gaoxiaping lake, with a forest coverage rate of 87.15% (including water surface).

Ertan National Forest Park is located on the Chengdu Emeishan Xichang Kunming tourism hotline, with eight beautiful islands in the lake and more than 10 ethnic minorities living nearby. The quiet environment and suitable climate make it a tourist attraction integrating tourism, exploration, vacation, recuperation and other functions.

Ertan National Forest Park has nine scenic spots: Tongzilin, Bodhisattva rock, gaobaping lake, maluzhai, Baipo mountain, Laojun temple, lake island scenery, Tianshengqiao, Xianren cave, and nearly 100 high-grade scenic spots.

Ertan National Forest Park was rated as a national 4A scenic spot by the national scenic spot quality rating committee in 2008.

Ertan National Forest Park is located in the transition zone between Yunnan Guizhou Plateau province and Hengduan Mountains. Development history

Ertan National Forest Park originates from the Yalong River in the Bayan Har mountains of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. Many beaches have been formed along the way. After the Yalong River enters the territory of Yanbian, a beach is formed at the intersection of the Yalong River and the Hongni river. The local villagers call it toutan. Then they go down into the original Jinhe Township and form another beach. People call it Ertan, and then down there are three beaches. The dam site of Ertan Hydropower Station is built in Ertan. The surging Yalong River flows here like a shiver. It is intercepted by the 240 meter high dam, and then it pours down from the spillway tunnel. Ertan Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower station built in China in the 20th century. The construction of the main project started in September 1991, the river was successfully cut off in November 1993, and the first unit was connected to the grid in August 1998. The normal water level of the power station reservoir is 1200 meters, with a total capacity of 5.8 billion cubic meters. The overflow parabolic double curvature arch dam ranks first in Asia, with an installed capacity of 3.3 million kilowatts and an annual power generation of 17 billion kilowatts.

Hongbitan scenic spot

Ertan Hydropower Station

Bodhisattva rock

Bodhisattva Rock Scenic Spot is one of the nine scenic spots in the park. It is 12 kilometers from Ertan Hydropower Station Dam to Panzhihua City.

Baipo mountain

Baiposhan nature reserve, 1200-3400m above sea level, has vertical distribution of soil, climate and vegetation. The original forest is dominated by Pinus yunnanensis. The beautiful and spectacular gaoxiaping lake is displayed in front of the world. The turbulent River in the past is replaced by the rippling lake. Some "hidden in the boudoir" landscapes are displayed in front of tourists. The newly added canyons, lakes, islands, rafting, river sections, karst caves and other new landscapes in the reservoir area are integrated with the original canyons to form a rich content of the new Three Gorges tour. According to incomplete statistics, after the initial impoundment of the Three Gorges project, lakes such as Zigui lake and Baidi lake will be formed in the Three Gorges reach, and islands such as Baidi Island, Shuangjiang island and Huludao will be added to the Three Gorges reach.
