Shimen River
Shimen river is not a wide river in Jianshi. It has polished out beautiful poems in the long river of history. The shocking natural scenery hidden in its gorge is a wonderful landscape gallery! Approaching the Shimen River, walking through the thick history and the beautiful landscape of reality, slowly smacking and savoring, it is better than the fairyland in the world!
Ancient road
From Gaoping market town to the Northeast 2km, to the Shimen River pass of ancient Shiyi Avenue, you must marvel at the uncanny workmanship of nature! It splits a deep valley in the continuous mountains, so the Qili stone ladder goes down to the bottom of the valley, and the Qili stone ladder goes up to the high mountain. This steep road hanging on both sides of the gorge wall has become an important post road from Yichang to Enshi. Shimen, the best description of Shimen in history, is located on the hillside of Shimen River in gaodianzi, Gaoping Town, Jianshi County. There is a single hole stone arch bridge in the cliff on both sides of Shimen River, which is called "Shiman bridge" in ancient times, also known as "Shimen Bridge". It is said that the bridge was built by the "eight great kings" (Zhang Xianzhong, the general of peasant uprising in the late Ming Dynasty). In order to get rid of the pursuers, the soldiers were ordered to take a stone with them, build the bridge overnight, and hang their swords under the bridge. There is also a legend that "Shiman bridge" was built by immortals. These are just legends. However, there are no signs of quarries around the bridge, so the construction of the bridge is always a mystery.
Shimen Bridge southbound Erhua Li, stone level twists and turns on the Shimen. There is a cliff on the stone gate, and there is an abyss under it. Stepping into the stone gate, there is a hole in the gate, which is shaped like a covered basin, with green grass beside the steps and smooth walls. The white tiger mountain on the opposite side looks like a crouching tiger, magnificent and peculiar.
Both Jiaqing and Daoguang editions of Jianshi County annals of Qing dynasty recorded Shimen in "Shengji", and their contents are basically the same. Jiaqingzhi recorded that:
Shimen, 120 miles east of the county. It is as big as a bridge. It is next to juejian, and people are passing through the stone. If the right wall, if the left column, if the lintel, like a round leaf Yan. Out, the right stone dome covered, such as the house down slide. In the 39th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, Duke Chen of Fuxian built a temple on the stone wall and made a statue of Buddha. He installed a lattice in front of the temple, which was solemn and mysterious. He was suspected to have come from a vulture. Standing outside the temple, looking across the bank, the white stone is like a tiger. As the saying goes, "the stone gate is right for the stone tiger.". If the two sides of the Strait are towering, they can surpass each other. It is about seven or eight miles away from the West and the river. There is a stone bridge at the bottom of the stream, a pavilion on the bridge and a stone fence beside it. Sitting in it, you can see the cliffs on both sides of the Strait, the smoke, the trees and the sky. There is a wisp of spring and stone between Guo and Guo, which makes people feel terrible. It's almost like "there is another world, not the world". There is a temple on the east bank, which is called duifsi. In the 43rd year, Wang Zhitai founded and built a Buddhist temple. Zhihongguang, together with the West Bank Temple, is called shengjingyun.
legend
Down the ancient road to the bottom of the river, an ancient Shimen River Bridge (also known as Shiman bridge) connects the north bank. It is the earliest bridge in Jianshi. It was built in 1769, more than two centuries ago. On the North Bank of the bridge, there is an old tree longer than the bridge, commonly known as "Ma Lingguang". It is tall and straight, with red and gray bark and smooth light. It is praised as "divine tree". It is said that there is a Ganoderma lucidum herb on the top of the tree. When a farmer heard that the herb has a miraculous effect of bringing the dead back to life, he used an axe to cut down the tree and pick up the herb. Unexpectedly, there were dark clouds, thunder and lightning The next day, the news spread that the farmer cut down a tree and was angry with God. The local people said that this is a sacred tree, and no one dares to move its branches and leaves any more. On the contrary, people used the gap cut by the farmer's axe as a incense platform. When they passed by, they would offer incense to the sacred tree and pray for his blessing.
Culture and painting
In the deep valley, this ancient road has written a beautiful myth. It seems that the scene of people's happy horse hissing in the past is still in front of us. Today, the road is still the same, but the scattered grass has covered the footprints of our ancestors. The valley is very quiet because of the crisp and graceful bird song. Along the stone level ancient road, you can enjoy the green peaks on both sides of the valley, and watch the natural pictures of the cliff. On the cliff, there is a "beauty veil" in thousands of pictures, and the melancholy look makes people understand the connotation of Acacia. Along the South Bank of the stone steps down to the hillside, through a cave such as the door, this is the famous "stone gate". In the natural cave, you can still see the traces of man-made stone bars repairing a door, but now there is only one stone threshold. On the cliff beside the stone gate, a man carved "the best of Shinan" on high. The handwriting is vigorous, and the color has been integrated with the rock into gray black. It is said that there was a scholar in ancient Shinan mansion who was fond of traveling in the mountains and playing in the water. When he passed through the Shimen River, he saw the strange mountains and dangerous roads, and happily spent a hundred years. "Shimen vs. Shihu, gold and silver 25000" on the other side of Shimen, there are two Bodhisattvas, gold and silver, accompanied by a reclining Shihu. Now, the Bodhisattva has gone, but the tiger is always guarding.
Under the ancient stone bridge, the Yingying River nourishes the spirit of the canyon and the ancient road. Downstream of the bridge is an open shoal, which is as wide as a comfortable bed, with endless dreams. Upstream of the bridge is a narrow pool, which is as narrow as an ancient street, with no end. Under the sparse sunshine, the river is warm and refreshing.
The ancient road on the north bank is straight up into the sky. The ancient temple on the side of the road no longer exists. There are two mysterious caves. One is rhinoceros cave. The water in the cave is cold, the rain does not rise, and the drought does not dry. One is the cave of the king of hell, which is gloomy and terrifying, and extremely dry. But the cave is wide and can gather thousands of people to move freely.
Poetry and painting
Huang Xiang, the imperial censor of the Ming Dynasty, once went to Shimen and wrote a poem "Guo Shimen", which said: the water in the rugged stream on the Dengdao road is burning with fear.
Cliff hanging away, Ma chunchou rain, deep valley flying flowers, day to see clouds.
There are bird tracks in the old cave, and half tortoise inscriptions in the new tablet.
The ferocious stone tiger can be seen at the top of the mountain, and the ape can be heard on both sides.
Huang Xiang, whose name is Guozhu, was born in Nan'an of Ming Dynasty (now Dayu of Jiangxi Province). Jiajing Jinshi, the end of the official Taipu Temple Shaoqing. When Huang Xiang was a censor, he went to Enshi and Jianshi. There is no record of Shimen in GuanLiang Jindu of Kuizhou Prefecture annals in the seventh year of Zhengde of Ming Dynasty. However, Huang Xiang, the censor of Ming Dynasty, passed by Shimen and left a poem, which shows that Shimen was the only way from Jianghan to Shinan and Shu before Qing Dynasty.
Shimen is the throat of Chu and Shu in ancient times. In the first year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty, it was changed from Kuizhou capital of Sichuan Province to Shinan Prefecture of Hubei Province. Shimen is the main entrance and exit point of the province and government, so it is known as "Shimen pass". There are also Pushi, Tangxun and Jieguan pavilions.
At the end of Jiaqing and the beginning of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, Ke Yu, a Jinshi of Jiashan and a magistrate of Yidu County, Zhejiang Province, was appointed by the imperial court to explore the field of sansmao Tusi in Enshi. He passed by Jianshi Shimen and wrote a poem Shi Zhou Shimen, describing the natural landscape of the Shimen

In the 39th year of Qianlong reign, Chen Huizu, Fuxian, built a Buddhist temple on the right side of Shimen. He carved two statues of Buddha and master Kalan in the temple, and wrote the stele of Shimen Buddhist temple
In the summer and April of the 37th year of Qianlong reign, the city of shinanfu was built, and the stone gate was built. The stone gate, the cave in the rock, such as the door, people come and go out of the gate that way. People from Badong next to the northeast of Shihu mountain, tend to the South Three Li Xu, to Shihuan bridge. Bridge slightly southwest, up and North five miles, to Shimen. Through the door, slightly north, row down like eaves, local people build thatched cottages according to the rock, under the eaves, the city drinks and meals to wait for pedestrians to have a rest. There are many trees standing at the foot of the cliff. The West and the East are opposite to each other, which can be echoed, and the ruggedness is up and down. At that time, I didn't go to Shihuan bridge. I saw that there was a golden bun on the top of the stone gate. It was like a Buddha in the world. There was also a white bearded turban and a waiter. The branches and leaves of the trees were full of light. Those who followed the instructions said, "there is nothing to see." To the bridge, dismount familiar, still on. When it comes to Shimen, there is nothing. During the night stay in Shinan, the two monks saw a dream and said, "I'm willing to give up my new clothes." Let it be. This is the dream of the day. It is different from my mother's wife. "It's a temple," said Mrs. Tai The temple is located at Shimen cliff. The right side of the house is carved with stone, as you can see. One is the Buddha, the other is the venerable Kalan. Next to it is a small hall where officials can have a rest when they visit the temple. When it is completed, it will be a stone. Yu Weisu is not good at Buddhism. The Buddha shows his six bodies for me. The branches and leaves are magnified and bright. If there is so-called karma, as Buddha said, then there is also karma. If the stone is the gate, there has been no Buddha for thousands of years. Now the Buddha is a temple. If there is also karma, then there is also karma in the stone gate. I don't see the city, I have no reason to go to the stone gate, I have no reason to see the light of Buddha, that is, I have no reason to build a temple. Instead of talking about gods and monsters, Zi said, "as on them, as on their left and right sides.". What I have seen today is that if you are not a man like me, how can you say so wildly to confuse the world? It is also due to karma. But he said in praise: "neither birth nor death is life, and there will be life without living or going. Buddha is in the heart and in the eyes, while light is in the eyes but in the trees. Shimen Stone Tiger relative, stream water flow without rest. The Tathagata also cherishes the straw sandal money. Jialan has a rest here. He said that he was not lost with passers-by. He rubbed the tablet for thousands of years.

Chen Huizu was an important official of the imperial court. Under his influence, officials in the past were in Shimen river
