Nuzhen cliff carvings
The cliff stone is carved on a protruding Lashi which is 22 meters away from the earth's surface and halfway up the mountain. There is a crack in the Lashi from top to bottom, splitting the stone wall into two parts. The west side of the monument is about 2 meters high and 1 meter wide. The stone wall on the east side is south by East, with a height of 2.45 meters and a width of 1.1 to 2.5 meters. In the upper right corner is engraved the Chinese character "the great Jin Taizu broke the Liao army in Jieshan to rest Malishi".
It is one of the only surviving Nuzhen character steles in China. It has a history of 800 years and is the evidence of the Liao Jin war.
The cliff stone is carved on a protruding Lashi which is 22 meters away from the surface of the mountain. There is a crack from the top to the bottom of the Lashi, which splits the stone wall into two parts. The stele on the west side is about 2 meters high and 1 meter wide. Facing the southeast and East, it is engraved with Nuzhen characters, ranging from 4 to 15 characters per line. There are 3 lines of 14 Nuzhen characters in the upper left convex part. According to the translation of Sun Jin, it is said that on May 5, the second year of the founding of the people's Republic of China, iwen Hetai led his family and tribe to the source of fan'an'er. Many of them were captured, so Mou Ke became a "learning director". On the east side of the cliff stone inscription, the stone wall faces south by East, with a height of 2.45 meters and a width of 1.1 to 2.5 meters. In the upper right corner, there is the Chinese character "the great Jin Taizu broke the Liao army in Jieshan to rest the stone". On the right, there are three lines of 15 characters in regular script with clear handwriting. There are 23 characters in the Nuzhen script, which form a contrastive arrangement of Chinese characters and Nuzhen script.
According to the records of the history of Jin Dynasty, in the first year of the reign of emperor shou (1115 AD), a Gu, the Taizu, defeated hundreds of thousands of Liao troops in Jieshan, and pursued the emperor Tianzuo in Hubu. The records on the two inscriptions are in accordance with the historical facts.
There are few existing Nuzhen square steles, and there are more than 70 Nuzhen characters inscribed on Qingyun cliff, which are rare and precious materials for the study of Nuzhen characters. It also has the value of re analyzing historical materials for the historical research of Liao and Jin Dynasties. Nuzhen cliff carvings are the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in Jilin Province.
