Baipo Temple

Baipo temple is located in the north of wulikou, Taikang County, Henan Province. It was built in the third year of Jiande (574 A.D., the year of Jiawu). Its original name is Pingyuan temple. It has a history of thousands of years. It covers an area of 80 mu and has 14 temples. The front and back halls are well built with East and West galleries. The hall is carved with beams and painted columns, with flying eaves, red walls and green tiles. Approved by the government for reconstruction in 2005, there are now Shanmen, Daxiong hall, Tianwang hall, bell tower, Drum Tower, Guanyin hall, sutra library, Zhaitang and other buildings.

Historical evolution

Northern Zhou Dynasty

Baipo temple was built in the third year of Jiande period in the Northern Zhou Dynasty (574 A.D., the second year of Jiawu). Its original name is Pingyuan temple. It has a history of one thousand years. It covers an area of 80 mu and has 14 temples. The front and back halls are well built with East and West galleries. The hall is carved with beams, painted with columns, and with cornices, red walls and green tiles. In the hall, there are iron statues of Buddha, such as Buddha, Maitreya, and mouni. Three statues are about five feet high, serving all kinds of gods. They have good eyebrows and kind eyes.

Ming and Qing Dynasties

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, incense flourished. On the second day of February, a temple fair was set up. On the third day, there was an endless stream of worshipers burning incense. The whole temple was surrounded by cigarettes. The ancient temple was secluded and spectacular. For more than a thousand years, the gods assisted the people in all directions to live and work in peace and contentment. It was well-known for tens of miles.

Republic of China

It is said that in modern times, Wang Yuhua, mabujiang, together with a number of monks, successively took charge of the temple. However, in the 20th year of the Republic of China, the situation changed, the temple was abandoned, the God's body was melted, the bricks and tiles flew, the millennium old temple was destroyed, and the majestic Buddhist temple disappeared.

The People's Republic of China

In 1993 and 1995, the government carried out reforms to protect the historical sites and restored the main hall respectively.

On October 24, 2010, with warm breeze and bright sunshine, the Symposium on folk tales of Baipo Temple of Taikang County literary union was held as scheduled under careful preparation. Wang Xizhi, chairman of Henan Bafang Industrial Co., Ltd., Gao Lei, chairman of Taikang County literary Union, Mu Peijun, director of Taikang County Administration of ethnic and religious affairs, Li Shuyu, director of Taikang County Tourism Bureau, Wang Yinqing, President of Taikang County Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine, Liaoning Province Wang Gang, chairman of Shenyang Ruifang radio and Television Development Co., Ltd., and Zhang Hongsheng, manager of Yinrui digital TV transmission Co., Ltd. of Taikang County Radio and Television Bureau, attended the ceremony. Members from Zhoukou evening news, Taikang TV station, Taikang monthly and taikang.com attended the ceremony. Master Shi Hui'an, abbot of Baipo temple, first introduced the history of Baipo temple. Gao Lei, chairman of the Federation of literary and art circles, made arrangements for the significance of the forum and the collection of stories of Baipo temple. After the ceremony, seven members of the Provincial Writers' Association interviewed and talked with the people in the surrounding villages, and dozens of elderly people talked about many legends about Baipo temple. Through this gathering, it is intended to arouse the people's concern about the cultural construction of Baipo temple, inherit the Baipo temple culture, make Baipo temple a bright spot in the tourism and cultural cause of Taikang, and make greater contribution to the development of Taikang's tourism.

Human legend

During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, in the capital, there was a doctor surnamed Bai who was taught by an immortal since he was a child. He had excellent medical skills and the ability to return to life. Because of his forthright temperament, he did not play tricks on occasion. In a medical practice, he offended an official in the court. In order to avoid disaster, he led his family to escape all night. The Bailang family rushed to Taikang County, far away from the capital. They think again and again, dare not live in the county, go to the southwest of the county. About 40 or 50 miles away, a blue water depression with a radius of 70 or 80 mu blocked the way. As soon as Bai Lang Zhong thought about where to settle down, God's will got in the way, so he cooked and lived here.

In order to survive, bailangzhong reclaimed land and planted crops at the height of the depression, which solved the problem of food and clothing. In his spare time, he went back to his old business, went from village to village, helped the world, and felt the pulse of the farmers nearby. Bai Lang is not for money, warm and thoughtful, and soon became famous in the local area.

For a long time, people come to Bailang for treatment of serious and minor diseases. What always makes us uncomfortable is that when we go to see doctor Bai, we don't know the name of the place where he lives. There is a big earth slope next to the depression where Bai Langzhong lives. Bai Langzhong's surname is Bai, and there are depressions and slopes. As soon as people have a heart, they name the place where Bai Langzhong lives baipowa.

Bailang center is kind-hearted and has treated many patients with difficult and miscellaneous diseases. Everyone worships him like a God. When Bai Lang was an octogenarian, people came to baipowa to see a doctor. Bai Langzhong practised medicine all his life, and finally he became ill after a long period of hard work.

On the day of his burial, there was a long line of mourners. After burying Dr. Bai well, we didn't want to leave for a long time. At this time, there was a thunderbolt in the clear sky, and the rain was the size of copper coins. People had to leave the cemetery in Mr. Bai. When everyone was gone, the heavy rain stopped suddenly, and a bright light came from the bottom up. Bai Lang Zhong took a golden dragon and went to heaven.

Later, rich man Zhang of baipowa built a temple beside baipowa in memory of bailangzhong, named Baipo temple.

Not long after the temple was built, one night, rich man Zhang was in an emergency. His family put on a cart with six mules and sent him to the county to see a doctor. On the way, they met three strong men for a ride. The family began to disagree, and the three men died, but the family couldn't help it. For fear of delaying Zhang's illness, they reluctantly agreed. After the three people got on the bus, the family obviously felt that the six mules were very hard to pull and walked slowly. When they came to the gate of Baipo temple, the six mules were all sweaty and couldn't walk any more.

The family members were helpless, so they urged the three people to get out of the car. After they got out of the car, they heard a loud sound of iron collision. When the family saw it, they were shocked. It turned out that the three people were three Buddha statues. At this time, rich man Zhang on the bus felt relaxed and recovered from his illness. Zhang Fu Fu believed that the three Buddha statues had saved his life, so he left them in Baipo temple.

After the founding of new China, in the wave of "breaking the four old and establishing the four new", the three Buddha statues were smashed as the old culture, and no trace has been found so far.
