Tianyu culture
Xiaozhoushan has a long history of fish farming in rice fields. It was recorded as early as the Han Dynasty that fish farming began in rice fields. It is known as "big Zhoushan for fish culture in the sea and small Zhoushan for fish culture in rice fields". In 1985, the Ministry of agriculture of the people's Republic of China held an on-the-spot meeting as a "demonstration site of rice field fish culture" for demonstration and promotion. The area of fish farming in paddy fields of the township is 3400 mu, accounting for about 90% of the total area of paddy fields. In October 2000, comrade Fei Xiaotong, who was then the standing vice chairman of the National People's Congress, happily wrote an inscription for the township: "China's Tianyu village". On the east side of xiaozhoushan village, there are thousands of acres of terraces in succession, and the scenery is very spectacular. It is necessary to take this as the center to build a "ten thousand mu pollution-free rice fish symbiosis base" in xiaozhoushan Township, and form a virtuous cycle ecosystem composed of "fish rice village terrace".
There is a record in Qingtian County annals written by Guangxu of Qing Dynasty that "the field fish are red, black and mottled, and raised in paddy fields and polder ponds by local people". Xiaozhoushan rice fish is bright red and beautiful in appearance. Although it comes from rice fields, it has no fishy smell. Its meat is tender and delicious. Its scales are soft and edible. It is rich in nutrition and is deeply loved by people.
The unique farmfish culture formed in the process of farmfish breeding has penetrated into all aspects of local people's life. "Fish Lantern Dance" at the Lantern Festival in Qingtian; among the numerous carving themes of Qingtian stone carvings, the description and praise of Qingtian farmfish is an inexhaustible topic, which has formed the art of fish carving; farmfish has also been deeply integrated into the catering etiquette culture of Qingtian people, and "dried farmfish with fried flour" has become a local famous dish in Qingtian.
