Yilong Lake
Yilong lake is one of the nine plateau lakes in Yunnan Province. It is the mother lake of Shiping people. It is a provincial scenic spot.
In the midsummer, the lotus flowers in the lake compete for splendor and fragrance, attracting many tourists. Lotus has become an indispensable tourism resource in Shiping County.

About 1 km out of the east gate of Shiping County is the vast Yilong lake. Yilong lake has a circumference of 150 Li, a water surface area of 39 square kilometers, an average water depth of 2 meters, the deepest depth of about 7 meters, and water storage of about 100 million cubic meters. Yilong lake is the smallest lake among the nine Great Lakes in Yunnan. Its mouth is in the East, which is called Hukou river. It is located in Xinjie. On the river, there is a water blocking pavilion with exquisite and unique pavilions. The glazed tiles glittered. Hukou river flows eastward through Jianshui River, meets the wilderness River and becomes Lujiang River, and joins Nanpan River and flows into Pearl River.
Yilong lake is a heavy eutrophic lake, and its pollution factors include total phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen, transparency, COD, BOD, chroma, etc;

In the mid-1960s, the water level dropped and destroyed the spawning place of fish, resulting in the extinction of the famous indigenous fish species, pseudonen, Allosaurus and Huayu. After the lake dried up in 1981, the fish almost disappeared. After rehydration, the ponds and dams along the lake provided the fish provenance, in which crucian carp grew and propagated rapidly and gradually formed the dominant species Besides grass carp, common carp, white chain carp, bighead carp, high back crucian carp and Megalobrama amblycephala, there are 6 species of fish in Yilong lake.
Yilong lake is an east-west banded lake with flat terrain and slight southeast inclination. The lake bottom is 1407.11 meters above sea level, with a catchment area of 22.4 square kilometers in 1982 and a water volume of 44 million cubic meters. The east bank shoal is fine sand sediment, and the others are silt sediment. The silt is about 2 meters thick and gray black, containing more humus and a large number of snail shells, belonging to Lake organic sediment There are 20 rivers in the lake, including Chenghe, Chengnan River and Chengbei river. The rivers entering the lake are seasonal rivers except Chenghe. The outlet river is Xinjie village between Laohongshan and Huilongshan in the East, and flows into Nanpanjiang River through changgu valley.
