The first karst cave in southern Liaoning
The first karst cave in southern Liaoning Province is located in Zhaokou village, wawo Town, Wafangdian City, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. It is the largest natural cave found in southern Liaoning.
The cave group is distributed in the gray medium thick limestone of Cambrian Zhangxia formation, controlled by structural fractures, and its formation time is about 7-130 million years. It is 15 kilometers away from Wafangdian City and 80 kilometers away from Dalian city.
The first karst cave in southern Liaoning is 2 km long from north to South and 0.4 km wide from east to west, with a distribution area of 0.8 square km. The air in the cave is well ventilated, and the water in the cave is free of pollution and poison. The constant temperature is 12 ℃ all the year round. According to the preliminary survey of the sixth address brigade of Liaoning Provincial Bureau of address and mineral resources, there are 5 main caves and 10 branch caves, with a total length of more than 600 meters. The caves crisscross like a huge labyrinth. Stalagmites and stalactites are found in the cave in groups. The top of the cave is full of stalagmites, such as milk clouds; the bottom of the cave is full of stalagmites, such as lotus flowers, which provides a good place for people to travel, sightseeing, summer vacation and investigation.
