Baohua Temple
Baohua temple, a temple with the architectural style of Jiangnan in Song Dynasty, now stands in Shanghai. It has become an important place for the vast number of Buddhist believers in Jing'an District to worship incense and Buddha, and also adds a mysterious and solemn landscape to Shanghai.
The origin of the temple's name
Baohua temple, also known as Huiji Baohua temple, was originally located in the south of juvenile Village Road, Pengpu Town, Jing'an District, Shanghai. The temple was first built during the reign of Xianchun in the Southern Song Dynasty (1265-1274). It was rebuilt twice in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. At the beginning of the Republic of China, the old buildings collapsed, leaving only a few Buddhist temples in the West and more than 20 mu of temple base.
Facilities in the temple
In 1921, the Shanghai Huisheng Charity Society invested in the reconstruction of Baohua temple, with nearly 100 mu of farmland and facilities such as hospitals, school buildings, disabled homes, and release pools. It is particularly worth mentioning that at that time, a new "Suiran Pavilion" was built at the back of the temple, and a release pool and field were built for the temple; at the same time, Huiji hospital, nursing home, branch of Huisheng midwifery school, Changming primary school and other social charity education institutions were set up. However, the dojo was founded in 1937 on the 8th.

The main person in charge of the Youth Village is Mr. Zhao Pu. At the same time, she received a lot of assistance and support from Ms. Song Qingling and the China Welfare Foundation led by her. In April 1951, the children's village was taken over by the Shanghai Branch of the Chinese people's relief association and incorporated into the Shanghai Children's Welfare Association.
