Fengyangshan Nature Reserve is located in the south of Longquan City, Zhejiang Province. It belongs to Donggong mountain system and extends eastward from Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province. The existing area of the reserve is 152 square kilometers. There are 4245.2 hectares of forest and 10926.2 hectares of collective forest in China, with a forest coverage rate of 90.8%. The reserve has a subtropical humid climate with an average annual temperature of 12.3 ° C and an annual rainfall of 2438.2 mm. The climate is characterized by warm and humid, abundant rainfall, high humidity and fog.
Historical evolution
In 1975, the provincial nature reserve was established with the approval of Zhejiang provincial Revolutionary Committee.
Abies beshanzu, named and published in 1976, is endemic to Baishanzu Nature Reserve.
In 1987, Abies beshanzuensis was listed as one of the 12 most endangered plants in the world by the International Commission for species conservation (SSC).
In 1992, it merged with the National Nature Reserve and was promoted to the National Nature Reserve.
At the 2009 China urban construction and environmental improvement conference, Fengyangshan Nature Reserve won the title of "China's top ten ecological and environmental protection nature reserves in 2008-2009".
In 2012, the master plan of Fengyangshan National Nature Reserve (2011-2020) was approved by the State Forestry Administration of China.

Fengyangshan Nature Reserve is located in the south of Longquan City, Zhejiang Province. It belongs to Donggong mountain system and extends eastward from Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province. It is connected with Baishanzu Nature Reserve in Qingyuan County in the South and adjacent to Pingnan Town, Longnan Township, Lanju Township and Baishanzu Township in Longquan City. The geographical coordinates are between 119 ° 06 ˊ - 119 ° 15 ˊ E and 119 ° 3 ′ 53 ″ - 119 ° 6 ′ 44 ″ e, 27 ° 46 ˊ - 27 ° 58 ˊ N and 27 ° 40 ′ 54 ″ - 27 ° 50 ′ 13 ″ n. The reserve covers an area of 152 square kilometers.

terrain
The nature reserve has complex terrain, towering peaks, steep canyons and crisscross gullies. It stands at huangmaojian in the core area of the nature reserve, with an altitude of 1929 meters. It is the highest peak in Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Protected objects
Fengyangshan Nature Reserve is a forest ecological nature reserve. Due to its unique geographical location and natural conditions, the biodiversity in the reserve is prominent, and the biological resources are extremely rich. There are a variety of rare and endangered plants, endemic genera and species, model plants, economic plants, and a variety of rare and endangered wild animals and plants. Among them, 24 species are listed in the list of China's rare and endangered plants (Volume I), 8 species belong to the second level key protection, 16 species belong to the third level key protection, 21 species are listed in the list of national key protected wild plants (the first batch), 3 species belong to the first level key protection, and 18 species belong to the second level key protection. The superior environment provides rich food for animals. There are 53 species listed in the list of national key protected wild animals in the nature reserve, including 8 species under first-class protection and 45 species under second-class protection. It enjoys the reputation of "cradle of ancient plants in East China" and "natural rare animals and plants garden", and is one of the key areas for the implementation of "China Biodiversity Conservation Action Plan".
Tourist attractions
There are four scenic spots in the reserve, namely, the peak of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, the ten mile cage green, the source of Oujiang River, and the cliff and strange pine.
Zhejiang peak scenic spot
Fengyang peak huangmaojian, 1929 meters above sea level, the highest peak in Zhejiang, is a good place to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds. There are also Turtle Rock, alpine meadow, red fruit strange state and other attractions in the area.
Shili longcui scenic spot
The main scenic spots in the scenic area are: Yuya, Baizhang cliff, waterfalls, which continuously fall on the side of the stone road, like a line in the cave.
The source of Oujiang River
The scenic spots are: Fengyang lake, located at an altitude of 1540 meters, with an area of 1.47 hectares, is the leading alpine lake in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Longquan waterfall is a scenic spot in the area. There are Fengyang gorge, Tianma peak, Oujiang source and other scenic spots in the area.
Qisong scenic spot
The main scenic spots in the area are: Fengyang temple, located at the foot of huangmaojian, the main peak, among the green mountains, surrounded by ancient trees, dense bamboo forest, surrounded by clouds all year round. There is a temple built to commemorate the ancestors of shiitake mushroom and the ancients who developed the mushroom industry. Guansongtai is a good place for tourists to have a rest and chat. In addition, there are yerendong, jieyisong, wangjinshi, wangsongping, Yushu, lookout platform and other scenic spots.
Value status
Fengyangshan Baishan National Nature Reserve in Zhejiang Province is an important part of Zhejiang Fujian Mountainous Area. It is a typical representative of the mid subtropical forest ecosystem along the southeast coast of China. It is one of the twelve biodiversity distribution centers with international significance in China. The nature reserve is rich in biodiversity and has high ecological, scientific and economic value.
