Tianhetan scenic spot is located in Shiban Town, Huaxi District, Guiyang city. Within 24 kilometers from Guiyang City, it has the advantages of Huangguoshu waterfall, Dragon Palace and Huaxi. It integrates waterfall, spring, deep pool, strange stone, strange cave and tianshengshi bridge. It is natural; farmhouse, water cart and small bridge flow water. It is full of wild interest and pleasant.

Development history

Tianhetan is a typical exposed block of thin-layer carbonate rocks, with frequent folds, crisscross faults, meandering valleys and deep incisions; more than 20 calcified shoals and dams accumulated on the riverbed are connected with more than 20 caves. In early 1990, Huaxi District Party committee and people's government decided to develop Tianhe Lake as a scenic spot. After more than two years of development and construction, it was officially opened to the outside world on March 8, 1992.

Tianhetan scenic spot, with beautiful scenery and pleasant climate since ancient times, was once a seclusion place of Wu Zhongfan in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, and left many praising poems. However, due to the flood problem, it has not been well developed and utilized. "I'm most afraid that the black dragon blows the conch, and the flood fills the wooden fish shell; the cattle and horses rush into the Yintan River, and the dogs cry, the wolves howl, and the ghosts make trouble on the slope." This folk song seems to have gone away slowly, but the villagers near Tianhe Lake still have a lingering fear of it. It is a true portrayal of Tianhe lake before the water conservancy reconstruction in 1990.

Since 1990, the Huaxi people's government has set up the Tianhetan development project headquarters to vigorously plant trees, open up underground river channels and solve the flood problem.

After more than two years of development and construction, it was officially opened to the outside world on March 8, 1992. Tianhe lake has become a good place for everyone to travel.

Entering the scenic area, you will see the 210 meter calcified beach waterfall, which is also the widest calcified beach waterfall in China. The river downstream of the waterfall is called xiangbagou. The waterfalls are falling down. In the xiangbagou river section, the grotesque limestone caves are scattered all over the river. They are either circuitous or galloping, forming scenic spots such as beautiful water, huanshazhou, Wanji garden, fairy exsolution, etc. When the water is abundant, the waterfall roars down like a runaway wild horse, which is irresistible. It splashes water mist all over the sky under the pool, which is magnificent. In the dry season, the waterfall on the top of the waterfall is like a grain of silk. Under the breeze, it is the Wolong Lake that connects the calcified beach. The Long Dragon Ridge, Baibu stone bridge, emerges in the lake. The water is as clear as a mirror, and the lake shore is like a paradise.

On November 28, 2008, Tianhetan scenic spot passed the AAAA examination and assessment, and officially entered the ranks of national AAAA tourist areas.

Tianhetan scenic spot is located in the northwest of Huaxi, with a planning area of 13.5 square kilometers. It starts from Huaxi Reservoir Dam in the East, reaches shangshangtian in HuChao Township in the west, connects Longchang village in Shiban town in the north, and reaches CIWA section of Guiyang Anshun highway in the south.

Tianhetan scenic spot is 24 kilometers away from the center of Guiyang and 14 kilometers away from Huaxi central area.

Tianhetan, formerly known as Tianshengqiao, is a typical exposed block of thin-layer carbonate rock, which is formed by Ludi river passing through the dark lake and flowing out through tianshengshi bridge. It has frequent folds, crisscross faults, meandering valleys and deep incisions. There are more than 20 calcified shoals and dams accumulated on the riverbed, which are connected with more than 20 caves, forming open river, dark cave, cave in bridge, Lake in cave, skylight, shaft Cliff, gorge and other complex and colorful karst cave landscape. The river water is blocked, resulting in circumfluence. Under the strong dissolution, through millions of years, the huge space of Longtan cave is formed, such as underground Tianlou, Tianqiao, quechao, Yueya, Hailuo palace, Chaoxi, Muyu and so on.

Since its opening up, Tianhetan scenic spot has received more than 1.7 million Chinese and foreign tourists in more than ten years. Central leaders Tian Jiyun, Zou Jiahua, Gu Mu, Jiang Chunyun, Wan Guoquan, Qin Jiwei, etc. have visited Tianhe lake, and other celebrities such as Zhang Ding, Xie Xiaosi, etc. have visited Tianhe lake, leaving many treasures. Wu Zhongfan, a famous poet, was the first to discover and praise Tianhe lake. He once left eight scenic poems of Tianhe lake. Now, he has compiled and printed such books as celebrity praising Tianhe lake, Dongqiao Tiansheng Tianhe lake and detailed explanation of Wu Zhongfan's poems. In particular, Gu Mu's inscription of "a unique in Central Guizhou" highly praises the beauty of Tianhe lake.

Take No.211 bus (2 yuan one way) at the starting station of Guiyang huaguoyuan Wetland Park to Tianhetan terminal station, and go directly to the entrance of the scenic spot. Or take No.203 (2 yuan one way) to Huaxi park at the railway station, and then take Tianhetan minibus. The ticket is 6 yuan.

Practical information

The scenic spot is divided into two major sightseeing systems (exterior view and interior view). There are three kinds of tickets for tourists to choose: location ticket (for sightseeing), boat ticket (for sightseeing of shuihan cave) and through ticket. Pass ticket is 50 yuan / person (water hole, dry hole, location, boat ticket,), battery ticket is 15 yuan / person.

The scenic spot is free of exterior tickets for tourists with disability certificate, senior citizen certificate, officer certificate, soldier certificate and military disability certificate. Tourists with the above certificates will show their certificates to enter the scenic spot for sightseeing. If you need to visit the scenery inside the cave, you can buy a ticket at the ticket entrance.

When visiting the scenery inside the cave, there are full-time free guides and boatman in the scenic area.

There is a 10 mile urban wetland park near Huaxi. It's free and walkable. It costs 15 yuan per person by car. Walk from Huaxi to the gate of Minzu University and take No.203 to the railway station.

March to October is the best time to travel.
