Architectural features
Walking into the archway, you can see the central building - "Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall". This pavilion style antique building is divided into upper and lower floors, carved beams and painted buildings, antique. On the plaque in the middle of the first floor, there are seven big characters of "Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall", which is inscribed by Ms. He Luli, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. Her father He Siyuan was the director of Shandong Education Department at the time of the massacre. At his suggestion, almost all public schools in all counties of the province built monuments to the massacre.
Entering the memorial hall, the most eye-catching one is the bronze statue of Mr. Cai Gongshi. The background is the picture of "Jinan after the Japanese bombardment", which is inlaid with Mao Zedong's words about the Jinan massacre in his article "why can China's red regime exist". A large number of historical materials are displayed on both sides, which are divided into several parts, such as "wind and rain like a rock", "the ancient city's blood", "common hatred against the enemy".
The plaque at the entrance of the exhibition hall on the second floor, "wusantang" was inscribed by Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi. In the form of comic strips, the exhibition hall shows such copper prints as "Qilu storm", "Jinan fall", "fight hard", "people awaken".
Outside the memorial hall, in the shade of red flowers and green leaves, two huge stones are engraved with "Jinan tragedy song" and "national humiliation song". A 2.4-meter-high cast iron clock has just been hung on the east side. On the front, there are four characters: "do not forget national humiliation", and on the back, there are 280 characters written by Jinan Municipal People's government.
The whole Memorial Hall covers an area of about 2600 square meters, with a construction area of 300 square meters.
The bronze statue of CAI Gongshi's martyr returns to spring city
On May 3, 1928, the Japanese invaders made a "May 3 Massacre" in Jinan, which shocked China and foreign countries. Cai Gongshi, who was a negotiator of Shandong negotiation Department of the national government at that time, died for his country in less than one day. When the news reached Nanyang, the Chinese community was filled with indignation.
In 1930, Mr. Tan Kah Kee, the then president of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader, donated money to cast a bronze statue of CAI Gongshi's martyr. The bronze statue is 2.18 meters high and 1.10 meters wide, with a total weight of 250 kg. Because of the domestic anti Japanese war at that time, it was built in the Wanqing garden, a villa commemorating Sun Yat sen in Singapore.
In 2003, people in Quancheng suddenly heard Cai Gongyuan's "voice" on the other side of the ocean again, and immediately rushed to tell them that people all expressed the same voice: it's time for the hot-blooded heroes to "go home".
In April 2005, foreign countries finally echoed: it's time for the hero to "go home".
On April 10, 2006, the Nanyang Memorial Hall of Sun Yat sen in Singapore, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and the people's Government of Jinan City in China jointly held the "bronze statue handover ceremony of martyr Cai Gongshi".
On the evening of April 11, Cai Gong officially set out.
At 6:00 on April 12, the bronze statue arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport.
At 10:30 on April 18, the statue of CAI Gong was transported from Beijing to Jinan.
18: At 20, the hero Cai Gong returned to Quancheng.
19: At last, Cai Gong stepped on the land of spring city and stood by the picturesque Baotu Spring!
Construction of Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall
After the return of the bronze statue, the relevant authorities decided to build a "Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall". Baotu Spring was selected as the site of the park among Jinan Museum, the site of the original negotiation department and Baotu Spring Park. The reasons for choosing this place are: firstly, considering the annual flow of more than 2 million tourists, there is a large audience of social education; secondly, it is also the location of the original Wusan street, which can be inherited in the historical context.
On May 2, 2006, the bronze statue of CAI Gongshi and the foundation laying ceremony of Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall were held in Baotu Spring.
In December 2006, the main construction of Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall was basically completed, and the exhibition work in the hall was officially launched.
On January 11, 2007, the exhibition plan of Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall was designed by Wu Jun, associate professor of Shandong Academy of Arts and crafts. According to the overall design, the new Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall, together with the Wusan monument, Wusan Pavilion and other buildings, will form a building community to remember the Jinan massacre.
On April 28, 2007, the exhibition of Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall was completed.
Memorial of Jinan Massacre
In May 1928, under the pretext of protecting the overseas Chinese, the Japanese military government entered Jinan, where it suffered from bloody attacks and charcoal burning in the spring city. On the third day, Cai Gonggong, who was then the Commissioner of Shandong negotiation, was killed by maltreatment. On the 11th, the whole city fell. In ten days, 6123 soldiers and civilians were killed, 1770 were injured and tens of millions of assets were lost. News of the atrocity shocked the whole world. In 2006, the bronze statue of CAI Gong returned to the place where he died. Therefore, in favor of the respect of the scholars and the people, a memorial hall was built beside the Baotu Spring, where a bronze statue of CAI Gong was placed for worship, and this bell was cast to warn our people against national humiliation. Naiming said:
Since modern times, great powers have been rampant. The Chinese nation has suffered many disasters.
The Japanese are ambitious, especially arrogant. Cut my Taiwan and invade my sea territory.
Kill my people and plunder my treasure. Jinan massacre shocked all sides.
We must insist on resistance. We should unite with the enemy to resist aggression and prosper the country.
Countless heroes, brave for national war. The dead are gone.
Don't forget the past. China is vast and prosperous.
