architectural composition
Guangdong Provincial Museum has a total construction area of 67000 square meters, with one floor underground and five floors above ground. It is mainly equipped with exhibition hall, collection preservation system, educational service facilities, business and scientific research facilities, as well as security, public service and comprehensive management system. The exhibition hall is divided into four parts: History Museum, nature museum, art museum and temporary exhibition hall. The museum uses the design concept of "treasure box" and adopts the reinforced concrete core tube to carry the huge steel truss suspension structure system. The shape of the museum is like a carved treasure box. This design idea originates from the traditional Guangdong handicraft - ivory ball. The space organization of the museum is like the hollowing out process of ivory ball. The internal functions are linked layer by layer, and the exhibition hall, the corridor, the atrium and the whole museum are connected The structure of the museum is closely combined with that of the museum, which is spread out layer by layer from the inside to the outside. A large area of green grass slope gradually slows down along the west of the museum, forming a clear main entrance square and integrating with the Central Avenue.
The atrium of Guangdong Provincial Museum is from the audience entrance hall to the top floor. The natural light is spread from the glass skylight on the top. As the main public space, it connects the upper and lower corridors through ramps, stairs and escalators to guide the audience into each exhibition hall. At the same time, different activity halls are set up in the corridor to float over the atrium, and steel bridges are set on the activity hall to connect them, which becomes the main part of the space Active factors; in order to continue the concept of "treasure box", the corridor is also separated by perforated metal plate and atrium space, and the sense of hierarchy is strengthened.
