The Macao Museum, built on the fort, is a museum displaying Macao's history and multi culture. Macao Museum
Macao Museum is located at 112, in front of Macao Museum, Macao Special Administrative Region. It is a comprehensive museum with a total area of 2800 square meters and an actual exhibition area of 2100 square meters. It was completed and opened to the outside world on April 19, 1998. The ribbon cutting ceremony was presided over by Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Guterres.
Macao Museum is mainly divided into three layers, the first layer shows the early history of Macao, the second layer shows the folk art and tradition of Macao, and the third layer shows the objects of contemporary Macao; Macao Museum uses high-tech such as three-dimensional, light, sound and image, and uses reproductions and models to strengthen the display effect, mainly collecting calligraphy and painting, match industry, export porcelain and folk etiquette , Heisha archaeological site in Luhuan, articles of firecracker industry.
On July 15, 2005, the fortress (one of the components of Macao Museum) and the memorial archway of Da Sanba are the important historical buildings and relics that constitute Macao's historic district. Macao's historic district has been listed in the world heritage list by UNESCO.

Historical evolution
In 1617, the construction of the fort began.
Tianqi six years (1626), the completion of the fort.
In 1835, most of the buildings and churches in the fort were destroyed by fire.

The exhibition area on the first floor of Macao Museum is an exhibition of primitive civilization in Macao. This layer mainly introduces the origin of Macao and the prosperity of Macao, an important international (Asian and European) trading port, from the Neolithic period to the middle of the 17th century, which is the golden age of Macao.
The second layer (Macao folk art and traditional culture)
The exhibition area on the second floor of Macao Museum displays Macao folk art and traditional culture. It shows the cultural themes that bring rich and unique aspects to Macao's social culture, and these themes are derived from Macao's old culture. For example: Macao's traditional festivals, daily customs, traditional handicrafts and typical industries.
The third layer (Contemporary Characteristics of Macao)
The exhibition area on the third floor of Macao Museum shows the contemporary characteristics of Macao and is the last floor of the museum. This paper mainly introduces various social conditions of contemporary Macao.
Collection
Macao Museum has a collection of paintings and calligraphy, matches, porcelain for export, folk etiquette, Heisha archaeological site in Luhuan, and firecrackers.
Cultural Activity
From July to December 2017, in order to let the public and tourists know or learn more about the history of Macao, Macao Museum held a "leave a voice to talk about that year - story telling activity".
On November 29, 2018, in the lecture hall of Macao Museum, Macao Museum and communication Museum jointly held the "sixth Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Museum Professional Forum".
From October 2018 to January 2019, Macao Museum held the "2018 play Chinese and Western culture parent-child interactive theater".

The ticket office and information inquiry of Macao Museum are at the entrance of the lobby. Adults are 15 Macao dollars, students are 8 Macao dollars, children under 12 years old, elders aged 65 or above, holders of Macao identity card, schools and non-profit organizations are free of charge. From Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm; closed on Mondays (open on public holidays). It is open to the public free of charge on Tuesdays and 15th of every month.
